Crab Ledge Bluefin Tuna | Filmed on Drone off Cape Cod!

During 2021 I had many awesome opportunities to go fishing with members and fans of the My Fishing Cape Cod community. In many instances this proved to be extremely helpful.
For example, in the following video from October 2021, MFCC member and owner of Cape & Islands Mitsubishi, Bruno Demir, is driving his boat the Gaviota towards topwater bluefin tuna feeds.
Having Bruno at the helm allowed me to focus on flying my drone over the feeds, which is not easy considering bluefin tuna are capable of swimming at speeds of 40 miles per hour.
Filming these feeding schools of bluefin tuna proved to be the most difficult challenge yet. The fish were moving extremely fast, and the glare on the water made them difficult to spot.
Another challenge was maintaining my orientation with the moving boat. Landing the drone onto a moving boat was also a challenge. Fortunately I was able to get some decent shots, and I'll definitely be more confident the next time I get an opportunity like this.

There’s a lot of giants around but I think the fishing for smaller rec size tunas has been slow. Hopefully October will be better!
