Crabbing On The Chesapeake Bay | Commercial Trotlinin

Thought I would switch it up a little bit on this video. This was filmed back in August, Me and my good buddy Dj ventured out in search of some crabs. We ended up with our 4 bushel he was legally allowed to keep this day since he does own a commercial license. What river, or creek? I prefer shell bottom to mud. I found a stretch on the Nanticoke that I have to space the baits out to 12 feet, or I miss too many, there are so many crabs. Man, they are so sweet. Clams for bait too.

I’m on the eastern shore in the upper bay, best time is right about now; late summer, early fall. They’ll move around the bay, creeks, and what not depending on the temperature of the water.

i liked the video and i didn't know they put more restrictions on you commercial guys that really sucks when you are trying to make a living i still don't like that they capoed the residential to 1 bushel. and an immature female is a SALLY

Thanks for watching! And yeah they cut the commercial guys down back in august I believe. I believe it’s back up to regular limits now tho. We don’t commercial crab for a living but the guys that do I’m sure it hurts them a lot it’s a shame. We just do it on the weekends for side money
