Armada - Ranking the Rebel Commanders

Cool that ackbar was up that high, haven’t got to play him but he is a favorite of mine from legends. Need to get me a home one expansion at some point. Skipped over it when getting into the game because I was able to get the liberty for $15 less and had already got the profundity.

You should do faction officers next. I have a hard time deciding what works with what since I’m relatively new to the game.

Has anyone ever tried repair command heavy builds? I have Leia builds that are pretty good, I think. She can do MC80/MC75 unkillable phalanx (4 engineering dial + 2 engineering token) builds with MC Exodus fleet(+2 engineering), projection experts, and throw in Shields to Maximum and/or Redundant shields. We're talking about 8 engineering point per turn + 1-2 free shields + the ability to shift shields between ships. It is really hard for a standard 400 point build to chew through that much shield and hull. Or am I missing something. Seems like that setup would steamroll over king-of-the-hill type objectives like contested outpost.

Great ranking. Very much agree with this list I think, I would perhaps changed Raddus and Rieekan though :) But man these rankings will probably change, maybe a lot, when the new Clone Wars commanders come into the game. If FFG is really creating some new playstyles for the new factions this game will definitely get a proper boost.

I feel like Raddus was a nerf to existing fleets. There is no point in MSU dropping a big ship. Now Raddus works better with a big ship dropping a big ship. So while he wasn't nerfed, everyone who used him have to change their fleets

Sato is my boy! He's always fun to roll black dice at long range 😎 my next build is a SWARM of Z95s with scatter aces, aye he's quite easy to counter though. Kracken is basically useless now, he deserves Leia's place imo. Reekan, imo is the second most un fun character to play against across the whole game the ability to have a, quite literally invincible ship/ unique squadron for a turn is such a tedious fight. Thanks for the vid!

Definitely knew ackbar and agate would be the top two. Agate is amazing because she's basically a fix for any ship's defensive weaknesses

If you can get Leia Organa to work, she can be devastating, especially with Entrapment formation against a slower fleet.

Concur regarding Her Worship. She needs to stick with diplomatic missions, and leave the war fighting to the professionals. Perhaps when redone she does some kind of redeploy shenanigan to represent her covert ops. 🤔

Leia is my favorite commander in my opinion she's one of the best commander for low command fleets with devastating effect on enemy players when played right. She would definitely not be at the bottom of my list. Cracken, Madine and Garm are definitely worse!

Honestly I find Agate is way more useful as an officer if you have a big ship for her to ride around on.

Find so many of the rebels admirals boring, Rieekan, Dodonna and Akbar who are their strongest admirals all strong but pretty much passive abilities. I wish they had a good turn manipulator admiral like Thrawn. Closest thing they have is Garm and he's infinitely harder to use.

Maybe Kyrsta and Dodonna as they would fit into most any list. If I wanted to go wild maybe a pain train with Sato and Ackbar and Gunnery Teams on everyone.

Typing these out as I watch: Big yikes lol was going to type out everything I thought but it was getting long. The top of your list is fine (Agate is my fav commander in the game) but what happened there in the middle. Leia is worst, agreed with you there, but Sato is waaaaay too high, mothma, cracken, and madine are all better than him. Really confused by your logic there. Granted, you never seem to nav in your bat reps so I'm not surprised you don't like madine or the token generating commanders. All this to say, I disagreed a lot with your list, but I always appreciate the Armada content and you're one of the last real Armada content creators so I will continue to support!

Agreed that Sato is too high. Crabbok, your analysis of him was spot on imo, but I disagree with conclusion. Because he is so unreliable, he should be below Madine and Cracken, who are more flexible. I do appreciate these lists though, and always look forward to your videos, especially during the quarantine.
