I can sense the fear Mark has for them and I feel it as well. I do not want this precious couple to die of a fentanyl overdose they dont see coming either. These two really love each other. They have history together. They are surviving together. She's the sparkle and he is the thinker. She is the storm and he is the calm...just as many relationships are. But if you stop the video at times when they are looking at each other, there is such a deep love there that it makes you smile. There IS hope for them...a lot of hope. Just don't die on the streets of an overdose you two. You are perfect in God's sight...keep looking up.

@taylornorris4877 I been watching for years. I don't have to find everyone or their story interesting. There are many different types of people on this channel & many of them are great communicators who give insight into a world that most of us don't experience & how they got there. It also teaches us that we are more than the clothes we wear, the schools we attend, the houses we live in. We are our experiences & an extension of the support or lack of during our formative years. I watch because I want & like too. I may not apology for my comment. I find her off the rails , a victim , who can't pull her shit together to parent a child. Because she doesn't want too because being an addict is more fun , more rewarding & easier.

My parents were functioning alcoholics, but I loved them so much I guess I made room for that in my life. Doesn’t mean we love our family members any less, we all have a story. Sometimes that thought gets lost in the sadness of witnessing their addictions. (Those of us who’s been through this). The people who are interviewed here kinda becomes someone we all know and love..somewhere. Billy and Valerie are being honest and come off as genuine. I wish them the best! 🕊 I think interviewing kids or family members of some of these beautiful people would be a great way to help some understand it all even better. Addiction is such a huge range of emotions and viewpoints. ♥️

what do you mean "can an addict really be careful about the drugs they need," exactly? because of course we CAN be careful, and we try to be, but when you are withdrawing, you are more likely to make riskier decisions in what you buy/take. plus, with fentanyl being so strong, so cheap & cut into literally everything, cross addiction & poly-substance use/abuse, becomes so easy to slip in to.

@@ow3wells Pain care could help, too. Government studies have found that under treating pain is is bigger a risk factor for illicit drug use as overtreating (sorry, can’t cite. but it’s a public health branch). A few Suboxone and most methadone clinics treat pain sufferers with a history of addiction to anything (not just opioids). That may actually be their primary barrier to quitting. I don’t know too many dope fiends who only spend $20 a day on crack, when they make more than that. On the other hand, you can have a primary or secondary addiction and still have some common sense. It’s hard to go from any daily amount to nothing. It’s hard to gauge how hard that will be. I thought I could take it or leave it and I ended up needing inpatient or sober housing plus Intensive Outpatient. You never know how simple or complicated it will be, til you do some trial abstinence. I couldn’t do that, at first, unless I locked myself up and I didn’t use much anymore, but everyone is different. Once I did find pain treatment, I had almost no trouble abstaining. Even kratom took the edge off the pain enough. A LOT of drug users are doing so to self-treat pain. Getting safe, legal pain treatment could really help. For non-opioid users, I’d recommend Suboxone over methadone, because it’s not as hard to get off of and I never felt high, taking that. However, you can only get it off-label for pain…maybe. Mine is severe, with extensive nerve damage, etc. Marijuana works, I hope they get help with their pain!

There's one thing with a number of these interviews/interviewees that I'll never understand: When asked if they'd have done anything different in their lives, knowing what the know now, a lot of addicts will say that they wouldn't, as they wouldn't be where they are today were it not for those decisions. They'll then go on to say how they couldn't raise their own kids due to their drug issues, how they destroyed their relationship with their parents and family members, how they didn't finish high school or dropped out of college, how they OD'd numerous times etc. To me, that just says: "Given the chance, I'd do the same mistakes all over again." I know I would do a whole bunch of things differently, and I'm not even in the shitty sorts of situations most of these people find themselves in. I just can't make sense of that. There was one interview I remember with a (frankly seemingly psychopathic) dude who left his own daughter to burn to death in a house fire. But when asked the same question of if he'd done anything different, he denied, saying the same thing these people said - he'd let his daughter die every time, basically. Is it the drugs talking, or are these people genuinely that unreflected?

Thank you for being interviewed. I know how hard it must be to bare your souls about your life and addiction. My estranged separated husband is back to his life long struggle and addiction to crack. I love him but just can’t be with him or be anywhere near him when he’s using. He’s with a younger woman that drugs with him and he’s blown through all of his money. I keep a roof over his head but can barely take care of myself because he can’t take care of himself. The most sad part is he is such a talented artist and woodworker. In his heart he is a good man he’s just so clouded by his addiction. I worry everyday getting the call that he is dead or in jail. It is such a waste of life a precious miraculous life. You only get to be you once. As an aside I’m 13 years sober from alcohol addiction, so I do understand the struggle.

It's too bad these 2 can't live a sober lifestyle. They would be a successful couple if they weren't addicts. Imagine if they lived a sober life? I would love to see an update from Mark in the future...if they got their lives together. They both have kids too. Both married 3 times...Damn. 😳 Thank you for sharing this video with us. 👍🇨🇦😊 $40/day times 30 days/month. $1200/month. That's alot of money to support a habit. That's just for drugs. No rent money...getting a car is going to be tough for them. 😳

From my own experience, "willingness" is a product of having a spiritual condition. We have to be willing to live in the solution, instead of the problem. "Thinking, hoping, or wishing" for sobriety will avail us NOTHING! It's all about the effort!

And here I'm thinking they're two of the dumbest most delusional people I've seen. She sounds quite bright but besides talking herself up, what has she got ? One daughter that talks to her out of three of them ? A drug addiction? Someone else's husband ? Her mother raised one of her kids? Got a bit lost there to be honest. She wouldn't change anything ? Wonder what the younger daughters would change if they could ? She contradicts herself a bit and here they are on skid row , with no regrets. Yeah, delusional. Sad.
