How long it can possibly take to crack the ZIP (PKZIP) password using brute force? Considering the brute force requires a lot of processing power, i guess i am out of luck here as i have been sitting here waiting for 10 hours and nothing. I don't know if i should waste my time and stress my already weak laptop processor at this point. The official website said the median time of session is 3 days.. This is already a lot, and is probably higher in my case considering my processor is already on the verge of causing an explosion from overheating. I wish there was a way to at least find out the length of the password, so i would just give up if I knew it's too long or complicated. I haven't found any clear answer on the maximum amount of time it can take to crack a ZIP password, there are other answers unrelated to ZIP which are generalized. Some said it might take 10 years to crack a very complicated password, but they never mentioned a ZIP in particular. if somebody actually succeeded unlocking a zip folder with a somewhat complicated password, how long it took for you? do you think it is worth the wait? also, if i interrupt the process, is it going to forget the previous tries and repeat the unsuccessful attempts once again or will just continue from previous? i just don't know if it's worth the wait in my case, considering how random it is.

I cracked a complicated password with a wordlist in 20 mins. It takes 20 years to complete with bruteforce.

It is assumed that all files in each archive have the same password. If that is not the case, the hash may be uncrackable. To avoid this, use option -o to pick a file at a time. Need Help!

Did you type file name with its path or just the file name I mean. File name with path : john C:\User\Desktop\x.txt Or Only file name : john x.txt
