Hey Doug! Glad I was able to meet up with you. Sorry we weren't able to get a full vlog session together :( Thanks for taking the time for the attempt though!

It was fun meeting up, it would have been nice to vlog together, the fans would love seeing hands from opposing view points. Thanks for sharing your actual hand, it was very well played! I love that min check raise with the idea of bombing the river. Your subs can learn a lot from your play. Hopefully we can get another chance to play together, maybe in your town next time.

Good afternoon from the UK, for all who have followed and supported me I thank you, our prayers have been answered, i have now become "operable" from being inoperable and potentially terminal, the unbelievable Chemotherapy that is n the market nowadays has worked and shrunk the lesions to a manageable size, on of them is very deep set in my liver so must be dealt with by "Ablation" a technique whereby the stomach is opened very small incision and a camera/burning element is inserted and fed deep int the liver locating the cancer and killing it there where it lies , unreal, that will take place shortly, thereafter I have to endure 2 further operations removing all other Liver lesions which are apparently just on t5he outskirts of the liver , then the the tumor in the bowel will be taken out, so basically im a patient for the next 2months but hopefully back into main stream life thereafter, once again thanks fr all yur support, Doug , thanks buddy, youre a star in my eyes!! your friend Fraser

This fish made two bad calls - including to a river 3-bet - that wiped out all but $35 of my profit. I had a pleasure playing in the game, though, and agree with you that it could be one of the best $1/$3 games in the US. I’ll be sure to stop back in if I’m ever in the area again. And you should come on back to Blackhawk, CO for some similar games sometime! You might be surprised how much it’s changed since you played there (which sounds like it was in the $10 max bet days) - and it would be fun to actually pass some playing chips around together sometime!

@@pot_kivach160 very rare that. A flush draw plays that was unless it’s a combo draw. And if so, his turn bet was weak(small). He needs to protect his small flush or at least charge more.

Raising a flush draw is a common semibluff and/or pot-builder in Limit holdem. I can see someone doing that in deepstack NL, especially if they make a minraise like Aero's villain did there(the minraise resembling a Limit raise). Yes they can get blown off of their flush draw with a reraise in NL, but opponents are seldom strong enough to reraise. "Betting on the come" with a draw is nothing new in NL. This would be similar to that, "raising on the come". Apparently in this hand it was not the case, or villain's flush was small and he feared a big flush.
@dougmccuskerpoker20 күн бұрын
Normally draws with deep stacks are played slower to not get blown off the hand. When he raised the flop I thought to myself that he had top pair w a decent kicker. I was surprised he bet turn for a small sizing. It screamed weakness.
17 күн бұрын
The 9,10♥️ flush hand, I would have definitely over bet the river there especially vs an aggro player readying to move up in stakes to another table. I would have bet $200-250 there.
@dougmccuskerpoker12 күн бұрын
big bet might be best, I felt he couldn't beat an A, so I targeted his weaker one pair hands

Disagree that Aero hand villain could never have flush, could easily have 9c7c or 7c5c on flop and raised flop bet (of course his eventual fold showed he didn't make flush). Could be similar to your vlog play earlier w/9s8s. Merry Xmas everyone!
@jamesforeman802820 күн бұрын
It’s going to be a few hands which make up a single digit percent of his range. A bluff where your opponent folds 90+% of the time is fantastic. A perfect demonstration of high level play
@dougmccuskerpoker20 күн бұрын
When I was watching, I felt it would be highly unlikely he had a draw. Only chance is the combo draw but I felt his raise would be much larger.

This dude Aero never loses huh? How can that ever be possible???
@jamesforeman802820 күн бұрын
I think he wins a high percentage. Never is a stretch. But he plays very deep so that makes it possible. Conversely, if you buy in/play shallow you’re going to see more variance (ie.tournaments)
@Justin-sr1ku20 күн бұрын
@ I played enough to know that you will do through downswings from time to time. Nobody is immune to that.

@@jamesforeman8028 Seems like ur confusing losing with losing a stack. U dont have to lose ur stack to have a losing session. If Aero buys in for $3k and ends the session at $2.5k, just because he bought in deep and didnt lose his whole stack doesnt mean that he didnt have a losing session. This is what the OP was asking about. The probable answer is that Aero just uploads big wins or big losses. He has uploaded big losses before, but his big losses are few and far in between, so there arent that many. That doesnt mean that he doesnt have smaller losing sessions, theyre just not big losses, so he probably doesnt upload those. He probably feels like smaller wins and smaller losses arent significant enough to upload.
@Justin-sr1ku20 күн бұрын
@@dougmccuskerpoker Even the best go through downswings. Just watched Brad Owens. I appreciate his vlogs and openness. Unlike Brad, I feel like most poker vloggers do not show the true reality of playing poker for a living. It’s not a 100% skill game like chess or professional athletes where skills dictate winning. Why is there the saying poker is the hardest way to earn a modest living at best? Why so many poker pros go busto eventually?
