I'll firstly say I don't wish to revert back to the old 80's 90's style of refereeing where Yes Lets were given out like no tomorrow but I feel this game epitomised the extreme opposite where the ref only seemed to have NO LET or STROKE at his disposal. Somehow when both these specific players are matched, traffic is a common problem. It may just be their particular styles of play, and I'm impressed Shorbagy did not revert to his blocking moves at all this game and he played very clean. The problem is that there were 2-3 rallies which really did genuinely deserve YES LETs. Luckily both players were not pressured to swing and hit the opponent but it was certainly getting close to it.

I don't get that last no let at all. He couldn't prep his racquet up cause Marwan was in the way. If he swings, he hits Marwan. The ball quality of Marwan was also loose from the wall. The No let reason the ref gave was his preparation was late ? Yeah.. it's cause Marwan was in the way ! Give him at least a let.. maybe not a stroke. So weird !

You could justify the "no let" because Elias initially takes the wrong line.

Interesting to see how the referee was gradually loosing control of the game. Take firm, clear decisions. Don't let players open the door to discuss decisions you haven't even made yet. It's a top level match, needed a more thorough referee.

I'm going to start commenting on every video the same thing: STOP THE INANE, AIMLESS, DULL, MONOTONAL, UNENTHUSIASTIC, UNCHARISMATIC RAMBLING THROUGH THE RALLIES. I just want to watch the squash without having to hear this lame chat.
