Ok this new mix change everything, the whole experience! I was 13 when I first heard that album, 11 when I bought « The principle of evil made flesh » an album that changed my life. The same year ( 2000 ) I bought « Dusk & her embrace » which I also deeply adored. And then me & my friends took « Cruelty.... » the cross version album. We were stunned by the design, the pictures, the whole Elizabeth Bathory concept. Everything was more than fine until we listened to the album....the mix is absolutely awful, the drumming my goodness...it attack the ears, you can’t hear the bass etc... And it’s a shame because musically speaking, this album is a masterpiece.... So finally they gave this album the mix it deserved....

@DeadlyAlienInvader2 жыл бұрын
That’s probably because this song is about the tortures that Elizabeth had inflicted on her victims, while the songs before it are about Bathory’s decend into madness. That is why this song is louder and has fast paced beats-to give you a feeling like if you’re hearing somebody getting violently, beaten to death(like a Cannibal Corpse song), and the previous songs are supposed to sound eerie, so as to give you a feeling of suspense.

This is the song on the album where the keyboards had to be recreated as the original track was not available to use.
@debrucey4 жыл бұрын
@@RiffCollector Where did you read that?
@RiffCollector4 жыл бұрын
@@debrucey Dani said in a Blabbermouth interview that some keyboard parts were lost as they were added in at the mastering stage. I was curious as to what parts they had to redo. By coincidence I was chatting to a friend that I went to uni with and he was the person that did it. It was only Desire In Violent Overture he did. He doesn't think any other songs were missing keys otherwise he would have been asked to do them too. He found out what keyboard Les was using from looking at old live photos and then went to the effort of getting the memory banks from it for the best way to try and recreate the sounds. Obviously he had to transcribe by ear as no master was available to use for reference. I think they've come out a little different to the original (which was always going to happen) but that he did a good job with trying to remake them. Thanks.
