Dani Davey can write whatever style of music he pleases and I doubt he gives a damn what the haters think or say. I will say he has done pretty well for his family doing things his own way. I have listened to CoF for a good while. Whether I do or don't like what Dani is doing currently doesn't change my regard towards him. It is interesting how some "fans" put down the band the very moment they don't like a release. It reminds me of those sports fans who support the team only when they are in the playoffs. CoF has made a huge impact on my life and I will always respect Dani for that.

This is perhaps my favorite song off Midnight. But my question is, why is C.o.F's label banning people from posting Cruelty Brought Thee Orchids? They seem to have no problem with people posting the entire album, except that song! Why is this??
@Klinx58512 жыл бұрын
There were a lot of songs that, even in the orchestral form, I didn't like. Funeral in Carpathia was also a song I never really listened to due to most of the old COF songs being hard to listen to......but honestly, this song has one of the most beautiful orchestral arrangements I've ever heard. And that's strange when you factor in that the band calls themselves "Filth" XD

So. Maybe some folks can help me out. I'm looking for some awesome goth metal / goth rock bands/songs. My fav song of all time is Nymphetamine, by CoF, and I'm looking for something along that style. I love orchestration, I love the organ/keys, violin in metal, and even the operatic female vocals. If anyone has any suggestions please shoot them my way. (Looking for something heavier than Nightwish, and HIM.) Something graveyard symphony-esc.. More like what you would hear around halloween.

_Terminatorius, the Destructor: ..the Underworld shall know the spice ..that is cocoa_ *mixed with milk, never coffee.. it shall give them the work power to rebuild a peaceful, prosperous homestead (hopefully, on surface this time). and advance from the Age of Earth they're stuck in.. and cure their hunger for corpses (the same one our scavanger ancestors once had, as survivor carnivores)* _addiction to flesh made them aggressive.. sometimes, even feral.. so feral, they forgot whom that territory beneath the Slayer Castle of Mirth & Mutual Understanding belongs to.._ ✓

There are ways to make an orchestra sound good when adapting a metal song. This is not how it's done. Yes, there were some good parts, but overall, the song is based on changing moods and atmospheres, and here it just fails because the orchestra is extremely monotonous - this would prove a great movie soundtrack, not an actual standalone song.
@brapamaldi7 жыл бұрын
"this would prove a great movie soundtrack" that is exactly what they were going for with this

hmm....i guess i can see your point as an outsider looking in, but CoF especially old cradle rules.
@spectralnighttravel12 жыл бұрын
While I do enjoy this track immensely, I feel it is a bit naked with the removal of the guitars, as I do not think the orchestrations were properly increased in presence and layers to compensate for their loss.

How about you actually listened to their first 3 albums and saw them live back then. That is all something else than now. Ye, their music is advancing, but not in the taste of those that liked them from mid 90's. They suck really hard in our ears now. We've moved along to other stuff now.
