Like many old Black Country towns, change comes along, generally for the better, yet in most cases, the elder generation always look back on the happy times they spent in the original old-fashioned town during their younger days, which obviously includes myself.
Many well-known and in some cases, derelict buildings in Cradley Heath were demolished to make way for better traffic movement and the new Tesco store that is now the main venue for general goods.
I must point out that I am not in any way against Tesco opening their excellent store. In fact, I have some shares in Tesco myself, so I want them to do well.
This song is just an example of a local chap’s typical thoughts when returning to, and driving around his home town area of yesteryear.
