Lomeytown is just one street in Cradley Heath in the West Midlands. It is probably the oldest street in the area. Here May Tom and Hilda who were all born in Lomeytown tell of their lives and memories of the street.

My Auntie May, my Dad and Hilda, so lovely to see this and listen to them as Dad passed away a year ago. Thank you so much for posting these wonderful videos and keeping the old Cradley Heath alive in our memories.

Absolutely awesome I could listen to them all day!! I’m hoping the “diary” is still around as that would make a fantastic read 🚒👍

I am related to both the Tibbetts and the Attwoods. Some of the Attwoods were very rich indeed as they owned both Corngreaves and Attwood and Spooner bank. My great grandfather, Luke Attwood started Jury enamel wares with Ernie Stevens. Sadly, he died young, but my grandmother went to work there and she used to attach the bottoms to buckets and the spouts to teapots. Ernie Stevens' brother owner a hollow ware manufacturers an the Thorns Road. Ernie and his brother had an argument about their competing business interests and one said to the other:- "Well yow be Judge and I'll be Jury" And that is how both firms got their names. Ernie bought the plot of land next to the Judge factory to prevent his brother from expanding his operation and that is now Stevens' park, Thorns Road, Quarry Bank.
