When I was a kid, late 1950's in Cradley Heath I used to see the woman chainmakers laboring in their places . Big blokes worked the forge making big chains, three on a team, what a sight to see! The women worked on smaller chains. I ran erands for them to the off licence.

It was great to see in the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth opening to the games the women chain makers were represented
