i totally agree about the drop shipping crochet stuff it sucks cuz us as crochet market vendors can't compete with their prices because like u said it takes a lot of time but anyways thanks for bringing awareness ! lovely video ❤

Those lil flower pots, and the sunflowers with the faces >:( I hate that we're all dealing with this at craft markets recently, this is also kind of why I've been enjoying doing cons a lot more these past couple months. Sometimes i feel like by doing so much social media about it, it inspires resellers to do what they do :( but at the same time, I feel like one of the ways I can show people that I make my own products is by doing a lot of social media. I am mega conflicted gah

Wow 😐 Resellers totally explains the experience of one of my recent markets. There was a couple crochet vendors that were selling their items extremely cheap. Like items I had priced for $5, they sold for $3. Their item was slightly bigger too. I completely lost out on that market and didn’t even make the vendor fee back.

Legitimate question: how is selling trademarked designs any better than reselling?

a trademarked pattern can be debated on whether or not it’s ethical as you could get into legal trouble. But, if she’s selling primarily in person then there’s not much chance of her being targeted. In the end, she still hand made the item and put time/effort into the finished piece that she is selling. Reselling is without debate unethical because people are buying crocheted items, usually from sweatshops, and those people are not being adequately paid for their work that they made. They are also harming other local artists because they can sell the items at a lower price without an error of profit

@@ashtyndrake8509 if you can get in legal trouble for something, it’s unethical. In both cases, the seller is making money off of another person’s work.

In crochet patterns made by other people they will normally say that reselling/distributing the pattern is not allowed, but that you may sell the physical plushie you create (with credit).
