Thanks for showing this, I've been looking for ways to make more traditional looking sheaths for my colonial American knives and seeing as I live in the middle of a birch forest I just found it. Subscribed and looking forward to what else you've got.

That was the best birch bark sheath I have seen made other people don't use the wood sheath first I am going to have a go at that 😎

Nice video. I've made simple birch bark sheaths for my carving knives, but I'm going to try this on a knapped obsidian knife I made with a red deer antler handle.

@@greencraft4783 wow that’s a new one on me I hate plastic junk I prefer wood handle and scales all my whittling pocket knives are schrade and Swiss Army knife hiker are wood walnut on Swiss Army pocket knife and schrade stockman is desert iron wood great wood grain is like stone tigers eye I do own a mora but as I’m carving in my local park and woods I’m all for edc legal carry I prefer the nostalgia of friction folding knives too all are razor sharp too as your a pro you know a blunt knife is a dangerous tool greetings from Essex 👍🦊🐾🇮🇹

I have just finished a small pukko style knife and was wondering if there are any other options to birch bark for sheath making in the more native style as the birch bark in my area is so thin even if I soak it splitting is a major issue Thanks for any ideas

I keep having trouble harvesting birch bark, the bark never seems to want to come away from the tree, and j do t want to dig too deep to kill the tree. Does it have to be a certain species of birch?
