I've listened to this album countless times, and it remains fresh every time. The song structure and melodic style is so creative, playful even if it's twisted and dissonant. Top tier BM record.

Craft came out at a crucial albeit weird time for Black Metal (honestly a low point) and brought it back to it's roots more than any band at the time (when high production, experimentation and innovation was favored over following the raw oldschool traditions). I'm really glad these guys came out at that time because I feel that they put things back in line and saved Black Metal (along with acts like Inquisition, Tsjuder, Katharsis & Urgehal).

Nice twist on "Black Noise & White Metal" by The Checkerboard Squares, though their harmonic macrotones and arpeggio licking (as Kronic J says, he saw one picture of Hendrix and thought that was how the guitar was played), seem a tad tighter. Maybe it was the torture they endured during the recording of Black Noise at DeSade's S&M Studios in Stuttgart. Man you attach electrodes from a hand-cranked battery to a lead guitarist's testicles and he'll shred like a motherfracker! Leave it to Prick Prubin to know how to always get the best out of his productions. Bravo, Prick!
