A Sunday morning in the craft room just playing with an altered book I've been working on for awhile. Thanks for crafting with me!

You say "so" anytime you wish and don't let negative people take your joy! We love you and the way you talk! You have taught me so much I can't thank you enough and the reason I watch is you are a great person , teacher and all around crafter. Whoever said that is living a miserable life so, don't worry about it! Hi , hugs and love ya!

I made my first altered book over the long weekend! I was inspired by your video! I think I enjoy making these more than junk journals 😊

I also wanted to ask you about using distress inks to edge with. I am concerned if the books get wet at all will the color more than likely run? Have you ever used Yes paste and The Best Glue Ever? If so what do you think of them? Just a quick note... I tried using Gorilla Wood Glue and it works beautifully!
@gayleagostinelli_ct5 жыл бұрын
Joan K I’ve only used Yes paste in mixed media project. Yes distress ink would probably run but we would sure try not to get our journals wet!! ❤️

Just got done watching your video. I love watching your videos, thank you for being yourself and i love that your hubby brings you his smoothies. I saw the box you have your lace and things done up and so neat. I'll now have to get out all my lace and small pieces of fabric and do the same thing. Keep that smile on your face and enjoy your day.

So, I'm new to the junk journal community and just heard your comment about someone criticising your use of the word "so". It's not just you and it's not just Montana. I hear it a lot in tutorial videos of all sorts. I think you are lovely and I thoroughly enjoy watching you craft. So just ignore the haters 😊

I love your book. I started one a long time ago like this. You have inspired me to finish. I started because I was afraid to sew in signatures. I enjoy your videos. I would rather people not watch than say something negative. I'm sure it's not easy to talk continuously without someone talking to you. You do a fine job.

"Heaven forbid we throw away trash." You have got that right, Gayle! I'm always concerned with "substance," the perfectly good papers, cardboard boxes of all kinds, glass and plastic containers etc that we so casually discard. I've enjoyed a couple hours of your videos this evening as I sit and cut and paste and make a big mess. There is something in the artist/crafter/maker, whatever you call us, that just has to do this stuff. I love it. Thank you for making these great videos. I hope your shoulder has mended nicely by now.

I may be the first to read all the comments and saw where this journal is taken. Bah humbug. It is so inspirational. And roses have a special place in my heart. Before my parents passed they grew roses together and realy babied them with love. Fond memories. I would of loved the journal for that reason and would of used the book for the pictures and memory. I just found your channel and subscribed. Am very new to this area of making things. But you are a good teacher and with your ideas in mind , made my first tag with the modpodge and napkins. First modpodge ever . Thank you. I live in Pennslvania. About an hour south of where the f-2 tornado destroyed the shopping mall in Wilkes -Barre on Wednesday the 13th of June. My husband is fire chief of this sleepy little town. So since it was dropping south we were all on high alert.

It so funny about saying “so”. I have an almost 3 yr old grandson and while I was there helping take care of the 3 older kids while my daughter was giving birth to our 7th grand child the week before Christmas, I got so tickled listening to him talk, he’d start a sentence, “So, Guess what”, or “so, I want...”. Or I’d ask him a question and he’d say “umm, no!!” He picks up his sister’s vernacular and it’s hilarious to hear it coming from such a young kiddo. Gotta love them babies!

Love the book page banners. Those would look good on tags too !! The pink and black papers are awesome. Another color that looks good with pink is emerald green. I love that combo too It irritates me when people say negative things to you crafters. If they don't like what you say or do then they just need to watch someone else. Don't let them get to you. I say delete their comments and just go on being you !!!!!!

Regarding words that are repeated as part of daily living: are what make an individual enduring to me, let's me know it isn't scripted, or edited or in any way changed, makes it authentic, real, honest and truly unique. I love your sense of humor and I love that I never tire of your videos and watch them more than a few times each to learn from you. We love you, just as is, the real Gayle. To the rude person that asked if you could use a word other than 'So'. Would you ask that if you were face-to-face or are you just rude when you hide on the Internet slinging insults? I know this is over two years ago but I still had to give my opinion in favor of you. I am a good defender and cheerleader, lol
@pathobbs17836 жыл бұрын
I don't know if saying "so" is a regional thing since every instructional video I watch, each crafter has a word or phrase they say a lot. One always says' "Lovely!" every time she finishes something. I still enjoy watching and find myself listening for it. Thanks for sharing your talents!
@darnelleechols85564 жыл бұрын
When I was growing up, my grandma Sue said "Dontcha know" all the time in talking. At the time, it was kinda annoying, as well as distracting. She's been dead many years now, but when I think back on it, "Dontcha know" makes me smile. It's classic grandma Sue. Timeless. I think we all have our own little quirky habits. It's what makes you - YOU.

Hi Gail Pat here from Southern California, I'm really late in the game watching junk journaling and TN. I had shoulder surgery on my right arm the first of June of 2018. I've been watching you tubes just like all day long for several weeks and I still have 4 more weeks in this slang so I was admiring you working like you were with your sling on. I really don't have a worktop my whole table is covered with stuff I live in a mobile home so Space is really tight. Yes I would also like to see if you could refer me to another video so I can see how you would tear out the pages and what it is you're talking about, thanks so much keep on making your videos it is sooo interesting.

Very nice. I've not done an altered book. I think I may have to! As for your "so," we do it in PA, too. In fact, I hadn't realized how bad it was until my niece's daughter started talking. She began every sentence with a protracted, "Soooooooo," kind of making her voice all sing-songy. I was her primary babysitter so I figured I was at least as guilty as anyone else. She's 22 now, and I haven't noticed it for about 18 years. I know I made a concerted effort to stop using it to fill pauses or begin sentences after hearing Rachel.

I'm an old dog, Cindy...too late to relearn how to talk. Haha! I notice I also say "kind of" all the time. I guess we all have our quirks. Most people are kind enough not to point out flaws in others. I appreciate the positive support of people like you! ❤️

Hello, I was wondering if you had a video on how to cut some pages out to de-bulk the book or do you just keep stuffing stuff in, I am not sure how that works. Thank-you for sharing I learn so much from you even when it isn't in the style that I choose to do, there is always something to learn, for me it is all about techniques not copying. Have a very lovely day!!!

BloodLace Rose I think in this type of altered book, if you know you're going to have a lot of ephemera then you should remove more pages when preparing the book. I do have a video on preparing an altered book. The owner may want to take out some of the ephemera before using this book! 😄. Hope that answers your question. Thanks for watching! ❤️
