Years back I built a few hydroplanes, much the same technique, the last one I mixed in some walnut inlays, so steady were my hands so clear my vision, the wood was matted in a seamless appearance. I was quite proud of it. It sat about on a shelf collecting dust for 20 years, then was lost in a move. A good memory as I watch you fit each piece in place. Were I to build one today, I would do the Camel cigarettes, Joe Camel boat, it was fast and gave miss budwiser a fun for her money, until budwiser crashed into her. Oops. Congratulations on a fine bitvof building and thanks for sharing .take care.

80s flash back minus the Nitro. I always drooled over this kit as a kid. A guy living close had a Circus Circus as a wall orniment in his room. It was probably best. Expecting a kid to start and maintain a nitro set up wouldn't have worked out. Several years ago I built the Graupner " Systems" cat. I installed a brushed motor big as a beer can and eventually had it running on over 50 volts of NiCad Packs. It weighed a ton but eventually was running mid 40 mph. Boats are fun because they don't break as often as as flying or car RCs.

When I was a kid in Evansville Indiana the company my Dad worked for provided cranes for Atlas Van Lines hydroplane to launch with when Chip Hanauer was driving for them. It was so cool watching them race on the river there. Beautiful boat and nice detailed build video! She looks fast!

Neat . I never would of thought of building a Hydro out of foam board. The thru hull water pickups aren't going to do much if anything. They aren't in the water unless you put them in the sponsons. The Hydro rides on the ride pads of the sponsons and the props. The rest of the hull is out of the water.

I have a project underway that could use this idea of (2) 3650 2000 Kva. Props you suggested are no longer avaible from Alieexpress. Could you tell me which propeller that you used ) size? I favor the Octura X437/ 3r and X437/ 3L to run with the 3650's 1800 Kva using 11.1 Lipo. After running your're current boat, would you change anything of the drive system? What is the finished weight of your boat? Do you have any vibration issues? Do you really think you need two turn fins?
