Crafting a Giant Fantasy Blacksmith Hammer for Castlefest Cosplay

🔨 Welcome to VirrCraft! In today’s video, I’m taking you on a two-part adventure. First, I’ll be crafting a massive fantasy blacksmith hammer, perfect for cosplay or display. This isn’t just any prop - this hammer is the centerpiece of my costume for the Castlefest, a legendary festival in the Netherlands that celebrates all things fantasy, steampunk, and more!
Starting with a 3D-printed base, I’ll walk you through the entire process, from assembling and priming to painting and adding weathering effects. We’ll use techniques like heavy dry brushing and rust effects to give this hammer a truly battle-worn look. But the crafting doesn’t stop there - this project is all about bringing a fantasy character to life.
In the second part of the video, I’ll give you a glimpse into the magic of Castlefest, an event filled with incredible costumes, unique themes, and an atmosphere that has kept me coming back year after year.
