I don't know which video got me started with my scarf, but I used this one to help me finish it. I think the video that got me started was actually for a beanie hat which turned out to be my first little project and I gave it to a friend who just had a newborn granddaughter. Then I already knew how to get the scarf started but I just didn't know how to finish it off without Gathering it at the end. I finally have my scarf finished, and I'm looking forward to walking out the door with it in the morning! I want to use the largest of the four round Looms to make a little blanket for a dog I'm hoping to take in, in the near future. 😊

I love this and thank you ..But how do you add fringes on the ends of it ?
@CraftingWithClaudie9 жыл бұрын
+goldmouth100 That's not the easiest thing to explain with words, but I'll try! :) Cut strands of yarn at least twice the length you want the fringe to be. Insert a crochet hook from one side of the fabric to the other (or through both strands if you have them pressed together), grab the middle of some of the strands depending on how thick you want your fringe to be, pull the strands back through the fabric with the crochet hook. Then you want to take the ends of the strands and pull them up through the loop you just created and pull tight. That should make a knot of sorts. You could also pull through just one end of the fringe and then tie the ends together with a box knot, but I usually use the crochet hook. Once you have all of them done, you might need to trim the fringe to make it even. I hope that helps!!! I should probably do a video on it. :)

Love this easy and beautiful pattern. Do you think it would work out to sew the ends together, and, maybe sew a couple or three places along the scarf, so it'd be a flat scarf when you pick it up? Also, this would make a nice hand - warmer pattern. Just make it a bit shorter and wear it on both your hands. Looks so cozy and comfy to me. Can't wait to knit one. How do you manage to use both strings without it getting twisted when you wrap it around the pegs?? I'm struggling but I don't want to use one strand.
@CraftingWithClaudie8 жыл бұрын
They do tend to get twisted unfortunately! Normally, I will untwist it by moving the skeins themselves. However, I have been known to just bring the twisted part to top and wrap it onto the peg, though I would only recommend doing that if you had just a couple of twists, maybe 3 because it can get a little wonky otherwise. Hope that helps!

Ok so I've looked through the comments and can't seem to find the issue I'm having. For some reason my pull over stitch is getting to big I guess. It's reached the other side of the loom in length. This happened on a previous scarf as well. I pulled that one off and started this one. It seems to happen at the length im at each time which is approx 3 feet. Any suggestion on how to fix that?

Can I not just use one skein of yarn for the length of an adult scarf? My yarn is the thicker bulky one.
@sharron6628 Жыл бұрын
Yes. If ur yarn is very thick you don't need to double double stranded the only time if you want to. Thick scarf in the yarn is very thin. Then you can add another strand of yarn, but I found out if I use heavier bulk yarn I don't need to double up on it. The very thin yarn. Yes you got to double it if you want the thickness

This is a really good video! I just have one question, at the end you left the scarf with two holes and you didn't close them. how many rows would you make for a 6ft scarf? how do you know when you have reached 6 ft.?
@CraftingWithClaudie10 жыл бұрын
Shatrice H Honestly, I don't count the number of rows for this type of scarf. I just measure it with measuring tape to see how long it is. If you like your scarves to be a different length, you can sort of wrap it around your neck with the loom on (just be careful not to pull the loops off) and see if it's at a length you feel comfortable with.
@enricolambrusco2449 Жыл бұрын
if you knit the last peg wrapped, it will lock the stitch and no need to hold onto the yarn.

sometimes ill get holes between the one I started with and the one I ended with do you know what im doing wrong or how to fix that?
@CraftingWithClaudie10 жыл бұрын
Morgan Miller Those holes in knitting are usually caused because of tension issues. It's possible that when you're starting the first loop of the new round, you're tension might be off. I would just pay attention to the amount of slack you're putting in the yarn as you go around the loom and try and match that up between the last and the first peg. There is always a possibility that the distance between the two pegs is off too because it was made wrong, but if that's the case, you would just want to exchange the loom.

hi when you r video taping the tutorial , is there a certain type of camera that you use so you could be so close to the loom or do you have a regular camera and just set it on top of something? im just starting out!:)
@CraftingWithClaudie10 жыл бұрын
The TQ12 In order to do close up shots without them getting blurry, you'll need one that has a macro setting. I set mine to auto focus when I'm filming so it will focus on what's on the table most of the time, but if I need to bring it closer to the camera to show detail, it will change focus (sometimes that takes a few seconds). I also use a tripod so that way my hands are free. Good luck!

@fredface49399 жыл бұрын
Can this be done on a rectangle loom?
@CraftingWithClaudie9 жыл бұрын
+Fred Face I'd say yes as long as it has pegs on the shorter sides that are the same distance apart as the ones on the longer sides. :) If it doesn't have pegs on the shorter sides (I've seen some that don't), you'd end up with looser stitches on the edges if you tried to wrap the yarn in the same way from one side to the other. In that instance I'd recommend making a scarf like the one I show on my Easy Loom Knitted Scarf tutorial.
