Craftling: Simple Boomerang made with hand tools

I`ve build several boomerangs in the past with different shapes and woods. In my opinion this type flys best and it is easy to recreate. Even the kids can handle it quite well. You need a piece of 5mm plywood (10 ply is the best), a few handtools and one hour of your time. Have fun!

That's freaking awesome..! I've been trying to perfect my own for a little while can't really find the right wood and use any power tools it'll split the wood and crack it etc etc so yes I see why you hand saw the stuff to make it instead of break it. I've had a few goes at it but this video kind of pretty much showed me exactly what I need to do!

One measurement is missing - What is the size of the ruler? (it's different if using a meter or inch ruler///?) I'd like to do this one with my kid. Tanks in advance :-)

Hi Gil!👋 The ruler is 16 mm wide and 3 mm thick. I didn`t know the dimensions of a standard "inch ruler" exactly, so i can`t say, if there is a difference. I designed this one and many other boomerangs and i acquired the experience, that it`s enough, when the wing profile has roughly this shape. I hope this answer was helpful for you both! Have fun!👍

Dass habe ich auch gedacht! Ich bin habe dem Zollstock gesehen und habe gedacht wie breit ist es? And also, that video was definitely shot in Germany. In Germany, tradespeople always have "ein Zollstock in die Tasche." Everywhere else they use a tape measure

тут точно не 5 мм фанера, может 9-10, ибо 1 мм это один слой фанеры, на видео явно больше 5 слоев фанеры!!! В остальном супер!

I don't think it's necessary to work very precisely. I always do this roughly and the things always fly great...But I don't do it professionally... it's a nice children's projectBut I don't do it professionally... it's a nice children's project☺️

Please tell me where you can order this 10 ply 5mm Birch wood. I can't find it. I have made some boomerabgs that fly well but only have used ply wood I can find at home depot, (which is only 4 ply 5 to 6mm) And started with paint sticks.
