I've seen tons of beatmaking videos on youtube..... No one has ever explained why producers use double time this clearly. You are a great teacher! #salutefromtennessee

I found this vid. all i was looking for was a simple explanation on double time. but this vid you explain so much. i really really appreciate. i only make beats once every 3 years or so but im in my mid thirties and know a good deal about hip hop but this was still educational even from a history stand point. i never realized there was such a clear demarcation in genre by bpm. I also never really realized the importance of the downbeat for dancing. you're incredible, much thanks.

bro why your channel never comes up. and it just did recently due to me going down memory lane about shawty Redd. But iv been watching a few them like SHAWTY REDD DRUM THEORY "Go watch it if you haven't guys." and this one is great as well its the small simple shit that counts. and the fact you don't talk about your self in it and other shit to take away from music like sales and gossiping. Thanks bro Hope your still out there doing this and not under the sun getting yelled at by a old guy. I know exact feeling thru experience BUT THANk YOU!

@lowlowseesee8 жыл бұрын
so many things man. what comes to mind now is more genre specific stuff. like towards the end of the vid you were already on to it. you said something like, 'you guys like this new beat stuff, well i know how to make it...'. thats really important to guys like me because im nice on the beats(great write ups on my albums, respected in the community etc) but being that music isnt my primary thing i study i havent found the time to make a more diverse set of beats. so im stuck making really abstract shit which is great but im really fascinated when someone can make several different types of beats at will. i think you had three different type of trap beats in this vid, a breakdown of each type (willmadeit, slow etc) in maschine would be so dope.
@Craftmaster38 жыл бұрын
+lowlowseesee dude, ditch maschine...I did and I'm never going back.
@lowlowseesee8 жыл бұрын
+Craftmaster Productions haha i never expected to hear something unwise come from you. You would have to give me many reasons to do that. and even if you did it would be a tough sell. im not one of these close minded types either i assure you. i have made beats on asrs, mpcs, reason and logic but i do prefer Maschine. i only call it unwise because i think its a bad idea to tell anyone to stop using anything that works for them when it comes to beats. ive been around for decades and i still run into these dogmatic folks who say things like 'its not hip hop if it sounds like this or that' or if it wasnt made on an mpc its not real hip hop etc. this not only is actually complete utter bs but further its actually against the basic main principles of the culture and of music in general. you got power though, you're hella smart and you are a content creator, i would watch and dissect the shit out of the vid you made about ditching maschine. to me its like the pc and mac debate. im a mac dude but you will never hear me tell someone who loves pcs to stop using them. i will tell them the great and not so great about mac but i wouldnt ever tell them let pcs go. some people thrive on the windows os etc etc. i thrive on changing my mind so the question is if maschine is aleady working great for me what is your suggested alternative and how can it be better for me?

Came back to this video after the last Spicy Sunday u said its moving towards more upbeat tempos like 93bpm bcuz to me more upbeat then Trap is DnB territtory at 170bpm. Anywho itd b cool if did a video explaing how bpm dictates the type of drums you pick. Not that anything can stop me from putting a transient shaper on erything to make it hit harder lol
@Craftmaster35 жыл бұрын
Vincent Salamatino the bpm doesn't affect the choice of drums all that much. I do talk about this in my latest video on Studio one tutorials

so in straight time. even if you put snare on the 3 for a 98 bpm. you still count the bars as 4 bars is 2bars. i did that and the verses look long as hell lol. im still new to this double time stuff
@Craftmaster37 жыл бұрын
TheBlackave1 what you did was halved the beat straight time snares go on 2 and 4. You made 98 feel like 49
