Technically no tools required but I did have to re tighten the pull cord holder in place if I was going to keep using it. Besides that all hand tightening nuts.

The Craftsman CMXGKAME2979 gas edger is the simplest way to put the finishing edge on your lawn. The 29cc 4-cycle no mix gas and oil engine is mounted on a steel frame, so you don’t need to use a trimmer or carry the extra weight. I've given up trying to start it, to hard, Looking for the electric starter any idea where I can get one?

First If the unit is new or newer they start with 1 pull so make sure everything is correct. Make sure spark plug is clean and tight, spark plug wire on good, and if using pump gas go to Lowe’s and buy the fuel in the can in the lawn section “4 cycle” or find an ethanol free station to get gas. If not you Should be able to get one on Amazon, Lowe’s or any other Craftsman dealer. Do I have to change the oil everyone before I use it or is it a yearly thing?

I've had equipment for 5+ years and never changed the oil, but if you want the most life out of your equipment should change it every year or 2. If you use it a lot it gets burnt, you use it not so often can build up moisture if not stored properly.

Fabo Yes anything that is 4 cycle used regular gas. 2 cycle is premix. I would suggest ethanol free or do not leave gas in it for more than a few weeks will help keep from clogging carburetor.

This shows the cables already attached to the grip handle. Mine came from new the box with the cables not attached, and no guidance in instructions how to attach them. 😠

That stinks... Just pulled mine out of the box. Most power equipment like mowers, edgers, pressure washers are all pre assembled now from the factory to keep "us" from installing them wrong and causing problems like choke issues or throttle problems. Get it from a local box store? If so I'd box it back up and drop it off. If you can wait a day or so I can go out tomorrow and see if I can do a short video on where and how mine are connected, but probably be noon before I can get it uploaded.

I just looked at mine, that should have been attached from the factory, I'd take it back. It can be replaced but you need to take off parts to do it. At the minimum the breather has to be taken off to get to the throttle. The part by the handle should just have a spring on it, you pop that off with a pair of plyers and should release the tension or if your cable is off add the tension, the cable just fits in the groove, but if its not on from the factory, someone has removed it. Possibly a return, factory repair, or someone just "borrowing" parts.

The blade height adjustment design is terrible
