When I was a kid the National Guard would come down from Grayling, MI on their way somewhere. They would bivouac at Waterworks Park in Coldwater. They were about a block from my parents house. The Guards would send us kids to the Burger and Chix to pick up food for them. They paid for the burgers. A whole quarter for a burger. Then since they couldn't take the C Rations back they would give it to us. We carried that stuff when we went back in the woods behind the ice skating pond. The canned bread usually had peanut butter and orange marmalade in the box too. The bread was about half the size of the B&M canned bread. More like a dinner roll. Good stuff. Nixon stopped Viet Nam before my lottery number came up so I never went in the military. 😁
@OldSneelock27 күн бұрын
Dad told me about using the orange marmalade to distract the bees and wasps in France. They would take a slice of bread and cover it with the marmalade that nobody liked and set it over 30 or 40 feet away. All the bugs went over and left Dad, and the rest of the Anti Aircraft Battery he was a part of, alone while they ate.

Bread in a can..never heard of that but I really like the idea. We dont have that around here. When I was in the scouts in the 70s we went on an adventure and each one of us had to bring a meal. I went to a cheap store like an aldis back then and got a bag of dinner rolls and a can of corn and a whole chicken in a can. My tent mate and I thought it was gross and didnt eat that nite but ol' willie came around because he never brought food and begged from everyone and we said eat all you want. He was gone from school for days with food poisoning real bad. He never begged for food ever again and that made all happy. We did not know it was bad but knew it was gross. Ever see the episode of M*A*S*H* where charles and hot lips share the pheasant in a can?? I laff my a** off every time that is on, They were so sic.

Hey John, This might be a good video for you to put out. You've shown how to tighten up the pivot on pliers a few times but how do you loosen up a pair if they have been pressed to tight. I have a new pair of Leatherman Wave+ pliers that came to tight and want to make them looser. What is your preferred method to get them right? This would also work if you fix a pair like you did in this video if you go to far. Thanks buddy
@ScoutCrafter29 күн бұрын
The leatherman pliers are really annoying when they are overly tight- I loosened a pair of pliers once by taking lapping or grinding compound with my thumb and pressing it into the rivet area and working the pliers back and forth- a little WD-40 added to help get the paste into the joint and it worked like a charm- Once it loosened up a little I made sure to apply lots of WD-40 to wash out any remaining grit from the joint. 😃👍
