I sealed mine in with silicone sealant after the first set of replacements fell out in no time. That worked. I even went around the outside with a bead so it couldn't leak around the outer joint. They will come right out in the future.

Doing the same job, have you found where to add fluid to the transmission yet? I haven’t.

Yea but how do you fill up the lost grease? Mines been leaking and probably doesn’t have anything left in it?

So from what I read... there isn't an easy way. They come prefilled and sealed up. What I read was you have to take the rearend apart and fill it. Seal it.. then put it back in. But I could be wrong. It's been a while since I looked into it.

1. What were your leak indications. 2. Did you add fluid to the transaxle, and how did you do it?

so i could just see oil coming out from the seal. unfortunately from what ive seen theres no easy way to add fluid.

It is filled with grease, not fluid. The liquid coming out is separating from the grease. If the leak is severe you can change the seals but be sure to glue them in because new ones are often a loose fit & will not work unless glued into a clean hole with silicone. But you can run them with seeping seals for years. The thing that is most needed is to clean the grass which packs on top of the transmission. That will eventually break the shifting levers, if you never clean out the grass. Air pressure is the easiest way to get the grass out.

I had a murray and had to actually open the case as they were in a groove and no way to remove them. I have a LT2000 but idk If I can remove them this way. My left axle is damp and I suspect the seal

unfortunately these seals seem to go out all the time... and these rear ends arent really serviceable. basically when they lose their oil and the rear end grenades, its time for a new mower

Where did you find your new seal. I have the same problem. Thanks for the video

Actually I looked into the info of a rs800 rear diff.... those aren't the correct seals.. luckily on mine... the old seals said what size they were. So I ordered them on ebay.

I also have the same issue. I just ordered a pair from Sears Parts Direct. They sell them individually. For a pair with shipping is $22.00 for me. ( over priced but what can I do)
