I don't know if any other viewers have mentioned this, but you can also use blank laminated sheets to die cut stencils from your cover or background dies 🙂

Oooh! I’m going to give that a go! I’ve tried with acetate and it didn’t go well…

@helkatww3992, I’ve done it too. Laminate two sheets and even run them through my big shot to make stencils. Also run them through my Scan ‘N’ Cut machine for larger stencils. Laminated sheets are very versatile

You can really have fun with a laminator! I use clear pouches and white embossing powder to make snowy acetate to shaker cards!

This is wonderful. When my hubby and I were first dating he would bring me roses. I laminated some pedals from a few roses and I use that in my bible.

I’m in the process of organizing my stamps…I laminate the black plastic picture that comes on the stamps so that I don’t have to stamp them all out, then stick the stamps onto the back of that piece and put them into a plastic pouch so that I don’t lose any stamps. Of course not every stamp set comes with the printed plastic on them but I have found that most do. Of course I bought a couple different sizes of pouches and make my laminated sheets to fit them…one about 5 or 6” by 8 or 9” and a larger one to fit the larger pouches and stamp sets. I’m loving it so far but not done…it does take time but not as much as stamping them all. Love your videos!! 💕

Wonderful ideas! You may want to trim down the sheets of excess (keep!) before using since it will save you money by using the scraps and also help save the environment of excess plastic waste. You can use the scraps without the fold - I've done so many times! Just sandwich whatever you are laminating such that there is an edge to seal around it and use a carrier sheet (helps keep the pieces in place). You can put it through without the carrier if necessary once some of it is sticking. Happy crafting!

One additional idea and one additional use for a plain laminated sheet for you. I make a pocket from 2 sheets of laminate to fit odd sized stamps - Stampers Anon. Tim Holtz stamps, for example - by cutting one sheet to size that is about 1/2 inch larger than the stamp set, then reversing the cut laminate sheet so that the glue sides are facing out, then carefully tuck the cut sheets into a second laminating sheet and laminating. Cut off one side to open the pouch, trim the other 3 edges carefully to preserve your seal, and cut thumbhole on one side of the opening. The other use for laminate sheet, I cut a laminated sheet to use as a backer to my stamp sets as I do not like for any stray ink to make the envelopes I store my stamp sets in to get inky or to be hard to slide into the storage envelope and using a backer keeps all nice, easy to slide, and are much easier to wipe stray ink from. I do use packing tape and tape one side of the back and front together for keeping together while I use the stamp set. TFS!

I laminate various grid sizes of grid paper (8 squares to the inch grid paper, 4 squares to the inch, etc.) which can be useful for aligning card layers, measuring on the fly, planning (using dry erase marker), etc. The latest is laminating a 4 square per inch grid sheet I can use to assist me in creating consistent sizes of Nuvo drops into half back embellishments for cards. It is also a convenient and sturdy way to transport the drops to a secure place to dry.

Anne Melvin has a few good laminating videos. I learnt how to make pouches for my stamps and colourful pockets/notebook covers by sandwiching favourite serviettes in the laminating pouches. I have matte (off Amazon) and crystal pouches for different projects.

Careful when laminating florals. I've done that before and sometimes thicker leaves and petals hold a lot of moisture and this may squeeze out and then you're stuck with a messy look. If you want to use those, you should at least partially dry them first.

For the stamps storage, you can stamp your sentiments or images on an acetate sheet that you laminate when the ink is dry and it will be easier to use it as it is see through.

Did you use embossing powder, melt it and then use glimmer or deco foil. They are entirely different.
@tracylee4442 Жыл бұрын
I think when you use toner printer, you use deco foil. I am guessing this is deco foil as well.
