Great walkthrough! I knew about selling on CF, but I did not know that the free and bundling options offered payouts as well. It seems like a great opportunity to not just make some extra income, but to promote your name and design skills as well. Well done, sir! Thank you.

When you upload your videos to Behance, do you have to have them any particular size or format? Do you advise people to enhance their pictures before putting them on a portfolio site like Behance? Or when you sell on CF? A video on what to do with the graphics you create to sell would be awesome! IE: whether to enhance them, dpi settings, what format to include etc. Love your videos, especially this one! Thanks!

I understood you well, but when it came to making a portfolio for CF, where one should show nice, clear designs, that was too much. I´ll never manage it. I am definitely hoping to do more tutorials like this specifically in the Creative Fabrica space - niches, great thumbnails, listings, etc. My personal suggestion would be to set up one simple listing (one design, SVG/PNG file) just to get a feel for the interface. Hey Zen, great video as always! But somehow you skipped past one major point: according to Creative Fabrica, they 'only accept Designer Requests from designers who have another online store, so it's not enough to only have a portfolio link to Behance or Dribble'. Would an Etsy store qualify as 'another online store' ? Cheers!
@craftystax2 жыл бұрын
That's a really good point and I agree, I definitely did not explain that. Yes an Etsy store would definitely be an online store (especially if you are selling digital products). It really helps if your online store has some sales too (Etsy shows the number of sales, and that helps increase legitimacy). Thank you for catching that!

Is it allowed to sell .png or .jpg on Creative Fabrica made with AI? And is it ok to put my handmade cards on my portfolio although I would like to start selling digital clip arts on CF? Thank you for your answer.

Hello! You can definitely make digital artwork from your handmade goods. I don't see anything explicit on CF that says you CAN'T create AI-generated designs and sell them. I know that CF Spark designs are available, but if you are using another AI I guess you would have to check with them on what the licensing would be?

Hey there - if you request a payout that is under $10 US, then they charge a 50 cent fee. I believe this is to cover the PayPal fees. Anything $10 US or more, there is no fee. Hope that helps!

Do we need to fill the tax form in creative fabrica as a contributor for taking out payouts
@craftystax2 жыл бұрын
I'm not a tax accountant, but generally speaking you would need to declare your earnings to the government of the country you live in. I'm not aware of a tax form on Creative Fabrica specifically but some platforms will offer up a form to turn off the withholding taxes (thus allowing you to keep 100% of the payout and then it is up to you to declare your earnings when you file your taxes).

@craftystax2 жыл бұрын
Well technically they didn't download it for free - they paid $1.00 for the subscription, and then used the subscription to download. So CF pools all the subscription money and does a (complex) calculation of subscriptions and downloads and pays out artists based on that. I'm hoping to do a vid about it in the near future (trying to make the math fun - yikes).

How do designers get paid when people who download their stuff are subscribers? I've been wondering about it. I subscribed for a year of CF for only $59 and I've downloaded so much. Wondering whether these designers still get paid the listed price even though that's not what I pay?
@craftystax2 жыл бұрын
Yes that is a great question. CF basically pools the subscription money and chops off a portion for the artists, and then divides that up amongst all the artists. There's a complex formula (because some artists get no one downloading their designs and other artists get lots of downloads, which are essentially like sales). So the pie is always changing and the slices of the pie are based on a combination of how many designs you have listed, how many actual downloads happened, and how big the subscriber income is.

I just dont get how designers are able to make a living if they sell their designs for $1 or even less?
@craftystax2 жыл бұрын
It's a great question and I have two theories. One is that they may be in a third-world country where $10 a day is a fortune, so some sellers are working 40 hours a week (or more) but there are limited options in the real world. The other theory is that there are people like me who "set it and forget it" so over 5-10 years, you build up a huge inventory of things for sale, and then it is just "free money" like $100/month, $300/month, etc) like being paid money to knit or craft (which people do for free anyway).
