I think CF is a volume game. I opened at the beginning of April and uploaded everyday and I am at 97 listings and made $13.77. It's not a lot yet but hopefully with time it will grow.

Great stuff, Zen! Thanks for all of the info on getting into CF! Regarding inkscape, is there a way to make the color of something, like you changed the color of the butterfly, to a gradient? That butterfly would look cool with different gradient styles, like from different corners or sides, or even a radial gradient from the center. That could be a great bundle item. Thanks.

Would you please make a video about how you organize designs for each marketplace. One issue I have is keeping designs better organized. Naming, folders, marketplaces... I'm trying to find a good system.

I love watching your editing and public domain videos. So many useful tips. I'm sure I'd figure it out but I found the part about product images and later on about thumbnails a bit quick for people who've never submitted to CF. People seem to have specific ways to make thumbnails so others can't just screenshot them. I haven't tried creating for CF so really don't know any more than you've just stated.

This video is gold! Thank you Zen! Just wondering if the client has the “all access” on CF, and downloaded something that is not originally listed as let say $3. Is that seller receive the 60% from the $3?
@craftystax
@craftystax Ай бұрын
Yes good question - if the client has the all-access subscription, then the list price doesn't matter. Creative Fabrica just pools all the subscription money and does a calculation for everyone who sold something "for free" because of the subscription. There are no real metrics or reports so you just kind of trust that Creative Fabrica will pay out what they say they will (but there is an incentive for them - the more downloads people use, the bigger the brand becomes). Hope that helps!
@OctoKidsTV
@OctoKidsTV Ай бұрын
@ ah, that means seller wont be getting the 60% profit from that listing if the client has all access subscriptions. Thanks for responding. ☺️

so you dont make a thing if someone has all access with creative fabrica?
@craftystax
@craftystax 11 ай бұрын
No not exactly. 50% of what the subscriber (customer) pays for the all-access subscription is kept by Creative Fabrica, and the other 50% is paid to designers. Of that 50% that is paid out, 10% is split over all graphics (regardless of downloads) and 40% is split over the downloads. So CF looks at total downloads, your designs that were downloaded and then prorates the 40% accordingly.
@WhiskeyBlack777
@WhiskeyBlack777 10 ай бұрын
Pretty much, you get paid based on how many downloads you get from those subscribers. You get paid several ways. I've been on CF for I think 4yrs now and still haven't even hit $1k and I have over 500 listings. You make the most if someone purchases, you make less for the subscribers who DL it "free", and you make even less for just having shit on the site. I'm actually working to open a shop elsewhere cause I'm just kinda sick of CF tbh. I feel like their structure benefits the subscribers & CF more than the sellers. And I feel like the only way to really earn hella good on there is if you happen to luck up and have something go viral or if you get chosen by CF and they promote you.

@@craftystax From my understanding it's not all MY graphics... or HIS graphics... we don't make that from just our shit. It's from the entire pool of creators. That 40% is split up over downloads from every.single.CF.seller

I have the all access subscription and was wondering if I can use the graphics I download to create something like cards and then list it to creative fabrics to sell?
@craftystax
@craftystax 6 ай бұрын
Hey there - no, generally speaking, you can't purchase something on CF and then turn around and sell the same design on CF. You would need to substantially modify it (so that it essentially becomes a completely different piece of art).

Yes and yes. You can just sign up with different email addresses (it gets a bit cumbersome but I do personally do this and it's not a big deal - you can still request any email address for your PayPal payout).

Love your content, is there a best practice for tags in cf? Long tail, short tail, etc
@craftystax
@craftystax 11 ай бұрын
That's a great question. I personally try to use as many as possible (I am not lazy with the tags). I try to use short and long form. They offer 50 tags which is a lot so I would say the most important thing is to actually use like 25-50 tags. I hate this part because it is so boring but I make myself do it.

Is there anything special about creating thumbnails? All so new to me but loving your videos so far. I’ve been on the more labor intensive side of creating finished embroidery products along with other customs in HTV & sub. I have spent countless dollars on designs and have wanted to create more of my own and possibly become a designer. With tools like CF, that might just be possible :)
