They probably planned that to happen for years, it FINALLY happens, and the prop manager was like "My time has come." Like, the screens are covered in dust, sitting in a corner, forgotten to all but the props manager. He came into the studio that night, staring wistfully at them, remembering all the years ago he carefully made them. And as he hears "... I'm gonna poke the fire!", a smile slowly spreads across his face.

Never had a late night show host have so much fun with so little budget -- fake fire, fake band, talking rhino head, kangaroo testicles, old rotary phone, basket of fruits, pipe, snake mug, mouth organ, half dollars, pic of Angela Lansbury (I mean, Paul McCartney), two interns in a horse costume, robot skeleton, Drew Carey's doll, rabbit puppet, ... and oh yes, a stool in case Tom Cruise showed up. Did I miss anything? :-)

The low budget made the show THAT much better! Craig and Josh could REALLY improvise that much more!
@goyohan51763 жыл бұрын
The haggis in the TARDIS, the other employees (Michael, Bridger, Tuyen, Lisa and so on), the other puppets besides Sid (the crocodile for example), the life lessons from aquaman, the tweetmail intros, the awesome skits (Prince Charles, J K Rowling, Bill Clinton, Sean Connery..) Also his trips to Paris and Scotland with Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis, Ariel Tweeto, Michael Clarke Duncan and Steve Carell. I'm also forgetting a lot of things, but it's great to search for all the memories :) EDIT: the CBS Executive, all the studio flies (jay leno and so on), Florian and Ralf from Kraftwerk, the week of "other Geoffs" (like Larry King), all the "high def machine" animations (like ides of march, 4th of july..), the cussword flags, all the wonderful studio audience members from the US and all over the world (that would sometimes be sent to a restaurant like Craig's, The Ivy and so on)..

I always thought it was because they didn't offer him David Letterman's spot when Dave retired. To me that would've been the natural progression. I mean, Colbert got Dave's spot, then Craig Ferguson announces that he's leaving like two weeks later.
@michelleadams51203 жыл бұрын
Craig was definitely ready to go. He had had the freedom he had to do what he wanted because he worked for Dave. And as Dave was leaving, and he felt he had done as much as he could with the show, it was time. Ten years of one thing was enough, and producing such a high energy show, and keeping fresh every day was pretty exhausting. Although he said it became fun again after he knew there was an end date. Finally, he delayed the announcement of his leaving until after the clamor of Dave's leaving died down. Thank goodness for the videos/playlists in the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson Archive channel, and TVsCraigFerguson channel ! Over 1000 full episodes.
