Craig is a tad upset about censorship on TV. He talked and joked about it throughout the show on April 28th, 2009.

It's like Stephen Fry said on one of his interviews with Craig, it's unfortunate that what's considered most offensive is a word for sex, when words to describe the worst sorts of violence are used in casual conversation. Messed up priorities.

Censorship is a very tricky thing.. and overly (ab)used for silly stuff like a late night show.. kids learn about these words one way or the other, and we should be teaching them the impact they can have. personally, I try not to swear a lot.. because when I do, it adds power to what I'm saying (could be serious, or a joke)... imo, they should've completely censored the beheadings years back during the iraq 'war'. those videos were shown for sheer sensationalism, and empowered those awful people

TheGr8stManEvr but they don't necessarily have the judgement and experience to discern when it is and isn't appropriate. I agree with ice cubes take on it with his kids "I know you're gonna swear but you'll be in trouble if you let me or another adult hear you do it" Gives them the practice of knowing when to and when not to.

@@werwerqweqwe, what an ignorant & callow take. Swearing, distinguishing language for different interactions, having the option of heightened & inflammatory language - none of that is "wholly unintelligent", neither in practice or concept. @Phi161803312 жыл бұрын
Words don't have an intrinsic power. We make them up. WE decide whether their "acceptable" or not. It comes down to an irrational fear by parents that children will hear them and copy them. And that fear comes from the fact that we have arbitrarily decided that certain words are "unacceptable". So it's a self-reinforcing, irrational social fear. We don't want kids to hear them. Why? Because they're bad words. Why? Because they're not appropriate for kids. Why? Because they're bad...and so on.

Comedian George Carlin once said describing the word "fuck": it's a word used to describe the creation of life when 2 people make love, and it hangs around with words like "love & life", yet we use it to try and hurt each other as in "AH FUCK YOU". I just thought it was ironic & memorable.

That doesn't make a lot of sense to me.. i think the difference is appropiate use in the right context of nakedness, cursing and what else.. full on nakedness and sex is appropiate in porn movie.. cursing like an irish dockworker in front of a child isn't.. I think in craig's show, it's appropiate to curse.. it's an adult show.. even 12 year olds know those words already.. we shouldn't be censoring, but educating kids that in common day life, these words are usually inappropiate..

He is absolutely right!! On British tv, there is only a couple of words edited out of a show (depending on the channel its on). and nudity is not a biggie either,...anyways, i think the only thing funnier that pixilating Craig's mouth, is when they put up the flag over the mouth and use a phrase from that country...like "OOOhhh LALA" for france...or "kriky" for Australia...Plus not much else funnier than Geoff Peterson as the gay robot sidekick, that guy is funny as shit most of the time

Words are bad, ban words. Sex/nudity bad, ban them. Murder, rape, torture, kidnapping, etc, ok 👍 👌 it can air anytime, anyplace without restrictions. That will sure help the kids grow up stable ... but if they end up violent, it must be video games, music, pot, etc. that did it ... yep, that's the ticket.
