I've always interpreted the song to mean that the man had almost reached the point where he had frozen to death, and he was reliving the happy memories of life, and he was upset to be stopped before he died so he was almost home. You also stopped the video at the wrong spot because besides the song, there was an amazing moment after they finished singing.

Craig Morgan has a song called "That's what I love about Sunday." It's a great song. I'm not a religious person, but that song hits the feels.

A lot of older people around where i live in the south refer to heaven as their home. As an example, my great grandmother told me not to be sad because she was going home.

Craig Morgan is a Great Singer/Man/Veteran (He Actually just Re-Enlisted in the Army Reserves)....... Craig has some Great Hits....... "International Harvester," "Redneck Yacht Club," "That is What I Love about Sundays," "This Ain't Nothing," "BonFire"..... He wrote his 2020 Hit "The Father, My Son, and the Holy Ghost" as a way to help him get over the loss of his son in a Boating Accident in 2016, He intended to sing it ONLY ONCE on the Opry, but other artists told him he HAD to record it, to help others with their losses...... (Yes, Have the Tissues Handy, it will cause you allergies to act up)......

You definately must go back and watch the end of the video AND you MUST listen to The Father, My Son, and The Holy Ghost. Be prepared to cry. The live version at the Opry is great and so is the music video.

Jelly was a rapper. I've known him for many moons. The song is about a homeless man that was about to die, home meaning heaven. If you ever get to Nashville go to the Opry. It's more than music.

The old man was dreaming about his childhood days when he was awakened. He was "Almost home" in his dreams and literally as he was going to die.

Such an amazing song, and yes almost home I've always understood it to be Heaven, "right now I'd be fishing" lots of songs have been made referencing fishing in heaven.

@MRLBOYDMUSIC GREAT reaction. You stopped it too early!!! The end was the BEST PART!!! Please go back and watch the last minute or so!! It’s very touching! Craig talked about this song years ago about a man down on his luck dreaming of his childhood memories before he froze to death and wanted to finish his dream of being home. If you haven’t, please react to Craig’s performance at the Grand Ole Opry “The Father My Son and The Holy Ghost”. If amazing. Don’t know how Craig got through it. Keep in mind while reacting to it that Craig had just last his 19yr old son in a tragic boating accident. I think oyou will really really like the long and this particular performance of it. Thanks fren.

Sorry but you got off track on the story in the song. The man is homeless and before he was awakened, he was going back in his memories to happier times. He was almost home as in heaven. AND…… the worst thing you could do was to stop the video before it ended! You missed the absolute best part.

You've been catching grief by not finishing to the end of video, but most of us are already familiar with it, however Craig does tell Jelly Roll before leaving the stage "I'm just a phone call away"!

I see what you mean about being throttled now this wasn’t recommended and this is one of the performances I have watched multiple reactions to this performance alone. This one was magic when I first saw it, Craig Morgan is indeed a living legend. I love the ending for Jelly. It’s a true feel good story. You were right on the re-evaluation the old man was down on his luck, in nearly freezing to death his life was flashing before his eyes remembering the good times.
