So much for a video about a fuel pump. You talk more about your spare tire than the actual problem.

You're making it look like an economical project, Craig. I definitely enjoy these projects of yours.

cool video. i was thinking about taking the bed off my 94 dakota and building a camper on the back, but wasnt sure what it looked like under the bed, and now i can see that its pretty do-able. thanks!

Craig, Dont forget the anti-sieze on the bed bolts, just in case you have to pull the bed off again.

@junkymagi the screw usually rusts on most trucks. I like having the tire in the bed anyways.

@activeshadow117 it costed about 380.00 i think. I cannot remember what the full price was. I spent alot of money for my fuel pump because i wanted a quality part, and not a cheap part. Ive known lots of people that have cheaped out on fuel pumps, and they ended up getting screwed. You buy cheap, you get cheap quality. My fuel pump was made by Delphi, and i purchased it at the Napa store. Better than spending the dealers price of 693.00

@bobbyhuse I have two 4x4's and a 2wd...The light should come on when it is in anything but 2wd...so if you put it in 4 high 4 low anything it should light up and tell you...if the light doesnt come on it will still work...unlike new truck where if the light doesnt come on chances are its toast...the truck you and I have (mine is a 96 4x4 too) but with ours its mechanical so it doesnt matter if the light comes on or not it will work as long as you can pull the handle down into 4x4

lol 600 and some dollars? for a fuel pump? my god, I just ordered mine and it cost me 59.00 with a 10 year warranty. and I even paid an extra 40.00 for over night delivery. They cost 250.00 at O'Reillys and Autozone

I know this is old, but man you fucked up your spare tire assembly for nothing! You don't unscrew that bolt on the bottom! You use the rod with your spare kit to stick it through the hole in the bumper and lower the spare. Then when it's down you give the wire some slack and run that metal piece through the hole in the rim.

Wtf dude??? You drop the spare by Wheeling it down, look at the ass end by the tail gate! The cable holds it up, your not supposed to try to turn that bolt. When you drop the cable down you just tilt the hook and it comes right out. You should've asked someone how to drop your spare

Did you take that box off yourself? Those things are fucking heavy! When I was helping my friend sand up and repaint his truck, we took the box off... holy crap LOL

I used a cherry picker for my Chevy 3500 CC/Dually. I ran a rope in a cross pattern (Front left to back right and visa versa) then picked it up. I also used a rope tied so I could have a little control f the bed before I set it on the frame and jackstands. FYI.

Anyone realize the fuel tank was wide open and then he started grinding the cable with lots of sparks. This could have gone the wrong way fast !
