Find out how some of the technical errors in the movie came to be - and why many of them didn't matter.

In Russian dub they translated the "Motec Exhaust system" as "Motec System that burns gases(something like an afterburner)", thus explaining the flames from the exhaust they had. It doesn't make any sense, but somehow makes more sense :D

All these goofs are half the reason it's a classic. Like Rocky Horror. When the movie came out, all us car guys made fun of it, but then we learned to appreciate the humor and have fun with the whole thing. Now, all the mistakes are part of the experience. I still quote this movie to this day. Even the goofy stuff. I wouldn't change nor correct a thing.

Great video, Craig! I had always gotten a kick out of all the technical quirks and continuity errors that came out of the film. Great to watch the man behind the scenes acknowledge the same things and explain the reasons why. Keep it up sir!

It’s a Shame to see how much of Craig’s influence was ignored. Seems like they took advantage of audiences possible lack of knowledge a little too much. Still an enjoyable movie nonetheless. Keep the content coming Craig!

@11:33 It always had borderd me why there where 10 spark plugs laying down, for a 6 cilinder car. And also, who does that? Laying down the spark plugs like that, all pulled out of the packing, while the engine still has to be build

Trying to explain the term “advisor “ People we’re going on and on how you knew nothing when in fact it is frustrating as hell when movie and TV people do not listen! Real car people understand and know you know your stuff! I am going to recommend this video in our next video! Check our videos out Craig ! That movie is what got me interested in cars. I was 12 when it came out. I didnt know anything about cars. And being a kid then, i did use the term that many car guys including craig hate. NOZ. But ive learned since then and am finally going to school for automotive repair. Still love car, but my tastes have changed over the years.

Can't speak for anyone else, but the reason I didn't realize that the bumper on the loaded truck was from a Miata, has a lot to do with me not being into imports, at the time. Same with all but one of my friends, who introduced us to what a properly built Supra can really do. Another one, which we met through Joey, had a sick RX7. Now, I'm into both.

I like that you are telling it how it is. Yes it ruins the movie every time but truth need to be told! I remember when the movie came out in 2001 but I can't afford it to go to cinemas to watch it and waited 5 or 6 months (maybe more) to get it on rented VHS. I was so stunned by that movie I watched it everyday for 1 month some time even more. I even don't return the VHS so I can have this movie forever... And I was only 7 years old back then. p.s. I have the VHS somewhere hidden

Great video Craig. I caught about half of the things you pointed out, by the 2nd time I watched the movie. Things like two nitrous systems on the Eclipse, with stand alone fuel management, Motech exhaust, NOS systems increasing top end, LMAO in that one, the burnout wheelie, the Charger flip, and some V8 parts, for an I6, in the Supra. Next time I watched it, I noticed something off with the Civic under trailer scene, skipper back, and spotted the raised 5th wheel. Thank you for sharing that part of your life with us, and giving us even more to look for, in these films. My wife, more of a gearhead than I am, and I try to catch those little moments in movies, not just with cars and bikes, but also with firearms, as we are both competitive shooters. Keep up the good work, we'll keep watching!

I was one of those people who walked out and was saying stuff like , it was all made up mistakes everywhere ...but I still love it. For all the incorrect terms and wrong mechanical talk everyone was loosing their minds opening night. For the first time ever we the car youth were represented well, smart, knowledgeable anld capable.....not just the "how ya doin" greese monkey stereotype. It's showed the world a different side to the car realm. Remember this was way before social media was massive so from that day when I started talking shop in front of someone they would say "so are you like one of those people from the fast and furious" I got that for a good 5 years after it it came out. I did drive a R34 Skyline too so that probably didn't help back then. 🤣🤣.
