CinemaSins, here are a few observations I made of sins that aren't warranted. Allow me to explain: 2:17 If you look closely, you'll see that Slapjack is going 100 MPH per his speedometer, with KPH notated on an inner radius. An R34 GTR was never fitted with a MPH gauge from factory due to never being sold in a country that uses MPH (read: America), therefore Brian's actual speed when he hits 160KPH is 99.5 MPH. Therefore, the reason Brian's not passing is because he's going almost EXACTLY the same speed. 2:32 If you look closely at the impact sequence for the Supra, you'll see that his front brake system is severely damaged, but not his rear. Even if he was previously going 100MPH, the rear brake system would've been quite effective as it hadn't taken the brunt of the impact, so he would've slowed down regardless. And considering how much physical distance there is between the end of the drawbridge and the sign, it's very believable that he'd have slowed down sufficiently, even if he was rolling on a stock rear brake setup. 6:06 IF you happen to look at any major car review organization (Motor Trend, Car and Driver, etc.) from the time period that this was shot, you'd be able to tell exactly why these two cars are chosen. Considering the time period, along with how car culture was in the early 00's, these two cars make perfect sense as far as 'blending in' as far as the car scene is concerned. Granted, I will concede that the eclipse is a poor choice for the point I'm about to make, but I digress. The Lancer Evolution (at least) is a race-bred, AWD, rally-based homologation car that has millions upon millions of USD equivalent researched into every aspect of the car. Literally every aspect. They are ungodly fast not only in a straight line, but can hold their own well when it comes to cornering; especially on uneven surfaces, which is what most of the street racing showcased in this movie is. The design architecture and tuning that goes into the handling/chassis/suspension setup is a step above what most cars not only of that era, but also of modern times cars as well. These things can corner that borderlines supercar territory. 14:12 Really simple explanation as to why this weapon works conceptually and realistically: EVERYTHING HAS A GROUND TO THE CHASSIS. The ignition system (spark plugs) ground to the engine block, which is connected to the chassis via both a grounding strap and engine mounting bolts. The ECU has a grounding strap to the chassis. The entire wiring harness of nearly every vehicle in existence grounds out to the chassis. If you disrupt the voltage potential and make the chassis charged all of a sudden, it is very likely that it would cause all sorts of electronic/electical havoc on a car because nearly every electrical circuit on the car has lost it's current path. 14:32 Reason is stated above. As soon as you remove the charged ground, everything's suddenly going to have a path to ground again, meaning it works (granted, this doesn't take into account any possible frying of ECU microcircuitry, so we'll call it even)
