Brilliant. I was a drummer and was always in awe of the pipers in front of me, but they confessed that they were in awe of us behind them! Can't beat a Scottish marching band.

This is sick. Sick! Scarry sick with no resonance from the drums...just a tight snare sound only.. .which is the regulation sound and means there is no hiding your flubs like us lazy rock drummers do. The tall guy in the middle is really good. His lifts are high and uniform, and he did extra on the left hand "front-back" stick part, or at least made it look better. All of them are bad-ass and way better than I am. Maybe in my next life....

This is one of my favorite Pipe band videos ever! From my pov as an american drummer, it reminds me so much American DCI style drumming but with such a emphasis in the Pioe band style! Also, what would they have done if they dropped a stick? They don’t have extra like American drummers in the west would, would they just pick it up?

From an American perspective of a snare drummer who used to march, the Scots have us beat. Both DCI drummers and the Scottish drummers are technically awesome. No doubt. But the DCI players are forced to wear the dumbest costumes that are just cringeworthy. The Scots look so much cooler and styley. I dig that they play Premiere, too. The Scottish players have my vote all day, hands down and that's saying something because, again, the DCI drummers can play. Believe that.

Nice job, with the exception of your rolls execution wise not clean it all for the most part I would suggest working on uniformity of style and technique and that would help cleaning up the roles of it so they clean open singles and some of the open Notes very clean just work on those rolls execution wise that's my opinion Former member of the Long Island Sun rises senior drum and bugle Corps State national and world champions USA.
@austinshoupe30034 жыл бұрын
Different style, sir. Different priorities. French, swiss, and scottish rudimental drumming are all very different from each other. American styles are possibly the most over the top and most focused on uniformity and cleanliness at the expense of musicality' (until very recently). Other styles are typically more lyrical or rhythmically playful by comparison. Tone and shape are more important than cleanliness and uniformity in most european styles.
