I think some resellers can outlast a recession. You being one of them. Only the great ones last a lifetime, and you have what it takes!
@ZachAttackIsBack2 жыл бұрын
Pete, I think you're nuts on the posters. If they were all one of a kind posters (or quantity of 10 or less each), you could have a gold mine. But I think you are going to have trouble finding 1,000 buyers who all want the same event poster for some random performance for some random semi-famous band. You might as well price them high and be prepared to throw away the extras, because I think your audience for each particular poster might be smaller than you think.

My exact thoughts. Ain’t NO way. I love Pete. And I mean everything in good spirits. NO WAY in hell. I thought he had 11,000 differnet posters, he’ll even maybe a couple hundred different ones. But 95% of those will be going to good will in a year or so.

Pete, First off, I love the videos and have learned quite a bit. Your integrity and business ethics are obvious. Question, when showing people the sold history of an item, why do you never use Worthpoint as that is a true reflection of an items history. Ebay only shows 90 days and Worthpoint shows years worth of history. You may do it and due to editing, I never see that part. I was just wondering. Thank you from NC
@I_am_me85602 жыл бұрын
It costs money to subscribe to worthpoint! Ebay solds are the most current price points. Unless you are constantly selling rare vintage or antique items that are hard to price bc they do not go up for sale very often, it is not worth it to pay for a worth point subscription IMHO!
@timothylewis902 жыл бұрын
@@I_am_me8560 My assumption is Pete being a professional would want to maximize the available resources available. Like I said Ebay gives you a 90 day "snapshot" of sold history and I'm sure that Pete can afford the membership fee of Worthpoit. It wasn't a judgment but just a guestion FOR PETE.
@chadhuckabee62792 жыл бұрын
@@timothylewis90 I only use my worthpoint sub to look for items where the number of listed/sold items is less than 2-3. If the item has a half a dozen listings or sold comps in the last 90 days then its not that rare in my opinion so I would rather have current market data. I don't care if it was selling for $200 5 years ago if it's only averaging $100 in the current market. Now if the item in question only has a couple comps and seems to not come up for sell that often I might check out the long term market swings using worthpoint. In those cases I might buy it and wait till the current ones sell out and then try to get a premium although this is a very risky move so the purchase price must make sense. **Also I should note to be very careful looking at past market prices. Some things might have had a "event" boost and most likely not be repeated. For example if a famous person dies then their memorabilia might start selling at crazy prices but once it goes back down it will most likely not have such hikes again**
@Bangulo2 жыл бұрын
@@timothylewis90 if the item hasn't moved on ebay for 90 days then he isn't gonna go to worthpoint to show the customer it will sell for that much it will shoot him in the foot. if its a slow moving item he can say none have sold and get it for cheap or pass. hes gonna want to move inventory not store it if it doesn't move in 90s days it will take ages to even get his money back.
@mitchmontona2 жыл бұрын
For the most part, knowing that something sold for a certain price 5 years ago does no good for present day. Ive researched many thousands of items and I can count on one hand how many times I needed something more than 90 day solds or terrapeak. Worthpoint is a convenience tool, not something you need to be a full time reseller.

The posters are going to be a slow nickel as opposed to a fast dollar but you will come out ahead in the end. I have a lot of items I know I will sit on for a while but they don't take up much space. If you have the room, take advantage of it. I bought 59 vintage (more like antique) wooden clothes hangers for $1 each at an estate sale. Most of them have between 2 and 4 digit phone numbers. They are branded with the biz logo, address, and phone number. I feel they were a great buy because they are multi category items. Not just wooden vintage hangers. They have hotel names and or destinations. Many collectors. I wish I kept track of the sales. I'm well in the profit and sell about 2 weekly. Knew it could be a slow mover. Not disappointed.

Marilyn Mack As for Honey, I don't think there's any real worries as she has her own personal in-house Vet as it were since one of Pete's daughters (local) is a Veterinarian. Honey may seem "off" as you put it bc she's a lot less active. I attribute her more sedentary ways mostly bc of the larger, louder bell around her neck possibly making hunting prey less enjoyable. Another thing to consider is that although Honey is by no means, old, she's no longer a kitten and therefore prone to be less active. Your concerns got me to thinking how other customers have remarked about Honey's weight gain much like the gentleman did in this video. I recall Pete addressing Honey's weight issue a few months ago at which time he said they had not only changed her diet but were giving her less treats. Perhaps that, too, has caused a change in Honey? 🐾🐾
@marilynmack62332 жыл бұрын
Maybe I am projecting. Just lost cat of 16 years. She was sleeping more and not as active but still eating well. She was drinking more water and then she just went downhill quickly..a couple of days. I got her in for an appointment and the vet said she was dying I knew she was suffering by then so I had her put down while I held her. Hardest thing I have done in my life. Wished I had picked up on those subtle changes sooner. 💔🐾🌺
