I heard it put that, "The original is soft and somber because she was so sad that it happened. The cover is hard and loud, because it's STILL happening. In the 20 years since she sang, we haven't LEARNED."

Similar to how Simon and Garfunkel did "The Sound of Silence" as a warning and Disturbed's version is anger the warning wasn't heeded.

I love both versions, I think Bad Wolves definitely did the song justice. And made a beautiful tribute to Delores RIP 💕

I tear up everytime i see the video for Bad Wolves cover. When they got the call about her death they decided not to release it. When they told her family, they said "she loved their cover so much they have to release it"

Never got to see the Cranberries unfortunately, but I did get to see the Bad Wolves sing this live. Very powerful.❤

The song was written in response to the death of Johnathan Ball, aged 3, and Tim Parry, aged 12, both of whom had been killed in the Warrington bombings, when two IRA improvised explosive devices hidden in litter bins were detonated in a shopping street in Warrington, England. Ball died at the scene of the bombing as a result of his shrapnel-inflicted injuries, and five days later, Parry lost his life as a result of head injuries. So it had a direct meaning to that, not a general meaning... but the message still lives on today...

I heard that when the Golden lady made her first appearance the band stopped. They took some time to compose themselves. RIP Delores.

Devastating masterpiece. I never believed any body could deliver this message like Dolores. But they definitely did. It's now becoming a war anthem. Love from Ireland ❤

Yup Unfortunately brother you are old enough to understand this just like Other Version Zombie more relevant today than it was back then and they're still fighting but with way more powerful accurate weapons like drones which is a new add on in badwolves that everyone likes in that version so it updates what Dolores was trying to say all those years ago about if nothing changes nothing changes but us and more ways to wipe us out that's why today especially this song means way more than people realize it means even back in 1994 it was about kids being killed in another senseless war that could have been discussed diplomatically but since WW1 the world has been on another collision course of epic disaster like Dolores talks about here in my favorite song of hers Zombie. This song has more meaning than all the songs combined in the last 10 years which unfortunately says something about where are species has been heading since 1916 like she said in this powerful song just like my other meaningful favorite song from 1994 Keep talking from Pink Floyd which are society has stopped for along time now and if we don't wake up fast there will be another World War if we keep up the track we're heading on it's a recipe for catastrophe on all levels now never thought possible in 2023 but like me and my WW2 veteran family members that are still alive think specially after the last 3 years if eye awakening moments of nobody saw coming until it was stearing us right in the face and we couldn't look away no more but unfortunately it was to late another massive war in Europe that could have been avoided from communication and diplomacy once again we chose poorly It's like one my favorite songs Folks Keep Talking from my favorite bands Pink Floyd when Stephen Hawking did his famous Commercial in the 90s saying as long as Mankind keeps communicating the human race still has a chance to turn it around no matter how close we get to another catastrophic global disaster like now we face in 2023.

The sad thing about humanity is we are creatures of violence. People have been violant since the dawn of time, i do not believe it will ever end, properual violence creates great wealth for a select few who will never allow it to end.

Cranberry version was about 1993 troubles as they called it, 3 boys were killed in the violence but yes, overall violence in Ireland

Well, a particular bombing in 1993 was the catalyst for the song, but as is said in the song the conflict between Northern Ireland and England went back to 1916 when Northern Ireland people were arranging a peaceful protest and English navy ships aimed their guns on the civilians to convince the protestors to disperse. And things escalated from there for almost a century.

tommy vext's sultry raspy voice kinda takes the song to a new level and love that bad wolves donated the proceeds to delores's kids l actually like this version better but do love both delores drowned in the bathtub in her london hotel bathroom due to alcohol intoxication they found 5 empty mini bottles and a bottle of champagne and levels of medication in her blood were therapeutic,no note was found and police said after her death that it was not suspicious but her bac was 330 mg/dL (0.33%)

Bad wolves is a heavy metal band. They have a great some called "remember when". It's about how the lead singers bother tried to kill him. Unfortunately the band now has a different lead singer and isn't as good anymore

Although I respect Bad Wolves for their cover of the song, The Cranberries and Dolores will always be the ones I go to when I listen to this song, it just hits better. I would love to see your reaction to Cranberries Songs that you are not familiar with and watch the music videos too, or even to live performances of Zombie, Dreams and Linger or whatever other song you know by them. Great reaction otherwise

They did donate the proceeds as well. To each their own. I feel that it is an exercise in futility to judge two works of art. They are equal in my eyes.
