Tom, I have to tell you yesterday we celebrated our family Thanksgiving. My husband was VERY disappointed when I told him I was trying a new dressing recipe this year (because he loves my recipe) Well your father-in-law's recipe was a HUGE hit! He loved it and so did I as well as all my family members. Pretty sure this will now be my go to dressing recipe. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

Same recipe we use, except we add in sliced banana just before serving. The waiting time is more about how the juices change the texture of the marshmallows from just soft and fluffy to soft and foamy as they absorb the juice.

I think that’s my little processor. My mom gave me a large food processor and my husband gave me the small one for Christmas. It’s over 36 years old and still going strong! And I have used the small one way more than the large one.
@tomwyant9297Сағат бұрын
I feel the same way, Rhoda Jane. I have a huge KitchenAid food processor that I hardly ever use. I’m much prefer my small handy food processor that we have used for 30 years or more. Unfortunately, they do not make that food processor anymore. It certainly has been a workhorse. Thank you for being a part of our channel. Happy Thanksgiving!

I think this would be fabulous at a hot summer day's picnic! This necessitates having a bag of cranberries in your freezer, because you will not find fresh cranberries in the summer. Melissa, I chuckled at the appearance of your fingers lovingly locking down the bowl.
@tomwyant92972 сағат бұрын
Roseanne, I have been fortunate to be able to find frozen cranberries year-round in our grocery stores when I need them. Nevertheless, I do buy fresh cranberries this time of year, vacuum seal them, and stick them in our freezer. It is nice to have them throughout the year. Melissa’s right hand has become very famous for slipping into the video to lock down the mixer head when I forget to do it, which is often. 😂 Thank you for watching our videos and supporting our channel.

Very interesting. My mother-in-law gave me a similar recipe, years ago. You take a small can of crushed pineapple and mix it with a small pkg. of strawberry jello powder (or whatever flavour you like). Boil them together for 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Let the mixture cool in a glass bowl. Stir in one container of cottage cheese and one container of cool whip. Let set in the fridge and enjoy!

@@carmelscott1706, I'm going to start celebrating Canadian Thanksgiving Day too so I can eat twice. What's the typical Thanksgiving meal in Canada? Is it turkey and dressing like it is in the United States? Melissa and I have some great friends in Chatham, Ontario but I've never thought to ask them that question.

Oh you guys! This is the closest thing to the Cranberry Salad we have every year and I have wanted you to make it for so long. Mine has 1 cup of pecan pieces added to it and that does set it off, and you are right, I just add the rest of the bag of marshmallows. Anyway so glad Sherry sent this recipe to you and remember to add pecan pieces! LOL love you guys and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and this salad is great for Christmas. No kidding, everyone will want it every year from now on. It really is the best after it sets for overnight. ❤❤

With this being a very old recipe, I would expect that the 16 oz measurement for the cranberries is correct and also note that pineapple used to always be canned in heavy syrup. I am sure that accommodation may have already been made for this. However this is why it is better to have cups and package size specified in your recipe as well as things like how and ingredient is packed.
