Hollyoaks, You have really messed up this time by letting Breda recapture Tony, Just fix it now and end the story earlier by making him still have the crowbar in pocket or something and use it when breda gone to break out and use it again to smack her. I don't like that the writers did this. It makes no sense and was bullshit writing. First of all, really? After all the high and mighty crap Nancy spews out on the daily, she decides to be implicit to cheating. And after finally getting to be with Mandy, Darren decides to bang his ex? It's lazy and cheap story-telling. I know there and Dancy shippers out there, and that's cool ship who you want. But imo those two are as awful for each other as Luke and Mandy are. Nancy constantly berates and belittles Darren, how is that any good for any relationship? Sharing a history together doesn't mean you're good for each other. If you break up as many times as they have, then that's a pretty clear cut sign they should stay broken up. But that's just my opinion.

Because the ground with tunnels underneath wasn't strong enough to support the crane, you can clearly see it sinking into the floor. Tom tells Cindy numerous times throughout the episode, also the crane guy also tells Cindy the crane is sinking 0:46

OK everybody knows Hollyoaks has the best stunts. But on a serious note: there are a lot of hard working trained actors unemployed in UK. People who have spent money and time to actually study acting. There are a lot of young actors, especially Northern, who are looking for their first gig and opportunity. So sad and disappointing Hollyoaks deciding to hire some reality-star instead one of them. And yeah, Woody ended up being really wooden.

Drunk character operating heavy machinery they are not qualified to operate must be among the least inventive soap cliches there is. From Bernice getting revenge on Lawrence White in Emmerdale to Phil Mitchell tearing down the car lot in Eastenders. But as far as stunt goes this was not of the same standard as the car going off a cliff and several characters having to make the same jump, or three of the Roscoe brothers ending up in wild streak after a quick car chase. This was not a proper stunt, but a montage of frames which gives the impression of far more going on, than was the reality. When the Hollyoaks Later format was discontinued, it was claimed the reason was more money would be available for the pre watershed episodes, stunts being identified as a particular reason such a change to be necessary. But quite frankly, I think it would have been better, with the types of storylines Hollyoaks tend to opt for, if at least one episode a week would have been post watershed, so when James was made to have killed Kyle in a storyline it would have been splattered enough blood for such a conclusion to be forensically and legally anchored. Or when Ryan killed Amy he would not have had his back turned against us, making the cause of death an unanswered question. Even most of Breda's killings are so vaguely depicted it doesn't immediately make sense why young and athletic Harry die instantly, while his older and less fit father survives for months on a diet of mostly lollipops. For a whodunit or crime plot to work, there has to be a minimum of realism and logic - if not they neither have suspense (since literally anything could happen tipping the outcome one way or the other) nor make sense or are intriguing to watch for the same reasons. There are two ways to construct a story. A) You have a story you want to tell, and perhaps even a few boxes to tick in regard to type of scenes or direction of the characters, like a stunt, a kiss, a split up, a confrontation and more. So you adapt the actions and personalities of the characters so that story is told in a way that meets the requirements the best way possible. And as a result you have characters who have been kind of smart before, having to have lost a couple of billions of braincells over night. Like when Tony, who had ran and owned businesses since he was 17, failed to realize - after having Learned from Scott James, Tony's own lawyer at the time, had cooperated with his mother to con Tony out of his restaurant - that he had both James and Marnie over a barrell, since they could both end up behind bars for fraud, and James lose his job and license to practice law, had Tony reported them. Allowing Tony the opportunity, through another attorney, to settle the case out of court, and that way not only keeping his restaurant, but earn a tidy sum in compensation .too, since James would have had no other choice than to sell his flat, car and anything else - even borrow from any source he could - the money needed to settle the case with Tony. Cause both his job, career and freedom would have been in grave danger had Tony reported him to the authorities. B) The other metode is to simply equip each character with a personality, level of intelligence, a certain backround and life experiences which will color and dictate both their actions, thinking and reactions. Then choose a theme/topic or type of story, and develope the progress from scene :-)to scene by asking what would such a person have done in such a situation, faced with that choice or seeing such an opportunity. The latter metode is an absolute must in a whodunit.v
