Craniamon VS UlforceVeedramon X!! | Digimon Card Game: BT-13 Round Table Conference (ROUND 1)

NOTE: Looks like I accidentally cut out the draws from BT11 Veedramons effect during editing, but those draws did happen! This matchup was definitely in Ulforce's favour. There aren't many decks that can just proceed towards their wincon without a care in the world with a freshly evolved Craniamon sitting right in front of them. With the combination of Evade and unsuspension, Ulforce didn't even care that Crania wasn't bounceable - completely unaffected by opposing Digimon effects. It just had to attack enough times to win. Still though, even though Black now has some pretty solid generic support cards for Blocker control, this is ultimately a match between two decks with very different amounts of dedicated support. I am really excited to see what a future Craniamon X could do for the decktype, and maybe another Lv.5 that has while giving Giro's inheritable?

That was awesome! First two rinas added to hand, then 3rd turn craniamon, then Omnimon merciful mode, then ulforce x playing many tamers, and to top it off ulforce x beating craniamon's iron clad defense

Much as the Black Blocker deck seems fun, I do hope Craniamon some day soon gets a deck of his own, instead of effectively being teched into an existing deck like this*. Anyway, looking at our other match-ups, I think my first round hopefuls are: Examon, Yggdrasil, Rosemon, Alphamon, Leopardmon, KingEtamon, & Belphamon. Sorry Data Squad decks, it's just a lot of you are going up against some newer and/or mechanically more interesting decks that I want to see the most of. *Or at least given enough of his own support that he gets his own spin on that existing deck. You know, like Dynasmon. Whatever way works.

I do love the fast pace play of Ulforceveedramon, my very first deck, and this a great match to watch. You did miss some minor things, like when you gained back the memory from veemon and veedramon inheritable, you forgot to draw a card from the active veedramon from playing a blue tamer on 2 separate occasions so who knows if you could've gotten even more tamers out with those extra draws.

I’ve been loving watching videos of this card game. It looks like so much fun and I would love to play but I don’t think I’d ever really have anybody to play with. Would hate to buy the cards and not be able to use them. :( Of all the decks I’ve seen used, I think my three favorites are Bloomlordmon, ChaosGallantmon, and Cherubimon Vice (specifically the Green/Purple one).

Based on this match, it indicates to me at least that the deck should fully cut the OG ulforce. While its true that the newest ulforce can do insane things, that's based on a specific tamer. Ulforce only went nutty like that because it got all four copies of the new tamer. If there was only 3 copies in hand, Ulforce would have lost hard. Having one of each on the field makes use of the tamer playing mechanic much better than 2 of the same ulforces. That could be a pipe dream, but when it does happen, there is no feasible way for the opponent to stop that insane barrage

UlforceVeedramon swung so many times on that last turn i felt bad for craniamon. Then again with all that rina on the field he kind of deserve it. Looking at the matchups belphemon is gonna get DESTROYED by miragegaogamon. He is directly hard countered by that deck haha.

"unsuspend" is used too much in cards they make. I feel like they should limit the amount of times you can unsuspend a single card.. or just don't have the mechanic so often on cards.

Eh, I don't know. Ulforce takes it too far, but the mechanic itself is basically just a more involved Security Attack + effect. And SecAttack can also be annoying at high enough numbers, but I think the game has worse offensive mechanics that need nerfing. Namely security trashing with effects. I really think that needs some counters introduced into the game.

Nope, thats incorrect. Whether Crania blocks at the start or end, the total number of unsuspends Ulforce needs to win is the same. And for this board situation, if Craniamon had blocked earlier to force Evade, Ulforce would have won more easily, with more Memory remaining, and at least 3 additional attacks to spare. For example, this would happen: Crania blocks Ulforce A, forcing it to Evade Ulforce B attacks, tapping Rina to play a Blue Tamer Both Ulforce A and B unsuspend, no need for extra steps Or once Crania's blocks have expired, Ulforce A attacks without tapping Rina cos it doesn't have to worry about being blocked Ulforce B attacks, tapping Rina to play a Blue Tamer (Or if all the Rinas are tapped, drop 1 Blue Tamer from hand) Both unsuspend for 2 additional attacks Letting Ulforce's early attacks through is not letting the deck go off. In fact, on good Security days, they may self-destruct or you may be able to beef up your defences with another ST5 (which can only be used if you can still block). But quickly relenting a defenceless board to it is.

you do need to get all the rinas and stuff to be able to make a play this big, so you need a bit of set up before swinging, if it was a more agressive deck matched up with him and he somehow bricked, it would be a tough time for sure

For UlforceVeedramon you pretty much need EVERYTHING to fall into your favour at the start of the game. If you don’t the deck is pure hopium. But if you get your set up you’re almost guaranteed to win.

I suppose its the luck balancing out from the BT11 tourney. When I featured this deck in BT11, my hand was much less optimal. I still cant believe I made the 4 Rina field...1 early draw, 2 searched, 1 late draw. Im too used to accidentally sending her to deckbottom with Davis/her BT2 version from playtesting
