AUDI Power Seats FIX

Audi A6 quattro 2008 3.0 TDI .
This car came with complain of power seats malfunction . Both front power / electrical seats wasn't working . After investigating the case we narrow it down to a wiring and plug issue . Guess this tests can be perform on A3 A4 A6 A8 and so on . The power seats need good 12V power supply , ground and working switches ofc :)

Good video, nicely instructive. Pulled my driver's seat out and found no loose connections, but will need to look further into the possible broken wire. My seat back will lean back, but not return back to upright. Driveable, but uncomfortable!!! Thanks for your help.

@@kingcochxo as it turns out, I sold the car to someone more savvy and he wasn't able to get it squared as well. Haven't heard if there is an end fix yet.

The idea of powering the seat with external power was paramount. Thank you. Found the wire to be broken in the floor pan halfway to the pillar. Pain in the you know what. Thank you for this great video. I was working on a 2004 Audi A4 B6 1.8T, same wiring scheme essentially, make sure to disconnect your battery if you have to go any further than the main harness at the seat, the yellow plug is the airbag and you dont want it to go off.

Great job! American cars rarely have electrical failures because of cheap wires like this. Audi should not have such cheap connectors or bad designs where they fail like this.

I know this is an old video but I have a set of 2003 Audi rs6 c5 front seats with power and memory. They are out of the car and I'm trying to test the switches before installing them in a car. When I hook up the main power and ground wire on the red plug to 12volts only the lumbar switch works(on both driver and passenger seats). Forward and back, up and down don't work. Have any ideas? I jumped 12volts to the motors themselves and they work. I find it hard to believe the switches on both seats are faulty. Any ideas?

Hi, my electric seat on a Passat b6 2006 works fine but does not go up and down, I did have a recent low battery and cleared all fault codes. Now got a fault code relating to this. The seat will go back and forth and tilt just not up and down..? Fuse? Or sensor? Or wires? Any info where the sensor is located would be appreciated Thank you

My seat moves forward and back but the tilt does not move. There is power to the seat but that switch will not work. What are your suggestions?

E334 and E365 on the diagram around the 5:15 mark in the video pause and write down the corresponding wire colors needed which show the positions of the rake and height adjustments at these positions. Id then work continuity from the motor plug in to the connector on the side of the seat, if youre good there, you may need to take that switch apart and see if you dont have corrosion inside. You can also try and power the motor or switch like he did with a jumper to the proper wire to isolate the switch itself. If the motor activates, then it's the switch. I've found broken wires every time I've run into electrical problems on mine. Good luck.

Dont know why but your video only runs for about 25 seconds than will buffering and will do not start. KZbin algorithms is mess up...

I have a 2017 Q7 with all the bells and whistles. Driver seat stopped working. Dealer could not figure it out. They think it's the control module. They want about $1000 to remove the seat (labor) and about another $2000 to replace the module. Luckily I got the extended warranty so it should cover it. About 4 months ago we also had a engine mount leaking fluid. That cost about $1500. The warranty covered it. About a year and a half ago another pressure tube in the engine compartment broke. At idle the car would whistle. Warranty covered it at about $900. This car is prone to weird failures. Not sure what we will be doing once the warranty expires. If you plan to get a high end Audi, I suggest getting the extended warranty.

Audi has the fame for the most unreliable cars in the branch for many years, talking about the luxury ones ofc. So nothing new there. After 5-8 years this cars will be all the time in the workshops. Or like many of the owners do, they drive it broken, until it leaves them stranded.

When he pulled out the black plastic box he saw there was a broken wire. He reconnected them with a jump wire
