Very informative, Im new to lure making and have been doing a lot of reading and watching video's before I actually beginning. I made my first one yesterday(a baby bass) and it turned out pretty good if I do say so myself. Im a tool and die maker by trade and have made a number of tools to help me along the way. I like how thoroughly explain things and am looking forward to watching all of your videos. Thank you very much for taking the time to post them.

I like all the lures you made that i have seen but i have a question how would you go about putting a rattle in a hollow body frog
@EngineeredAngler3 ай бұрын
I would create a hollow by drilling a cavity or build it in two halves...pretty much like most other builds.

Hey Franco, I really like your Flea lure. Any chance you could do a video on it and how you designed and made it? (Apologies if I have missed it but can't seem to find one). Cheers, Jude

You know I have always meant to go back and talk about the design and the specifics of that shape.

Yeah would be cool, such a unique design and look.

Is there a video on the plywood clamp you use to hold your molds together during the pour?
@EngineeredAngler Жыл бұрын
I made that so long ago that I never made a video.

Have you tried gluing a fender washer on your cap and inside the body and put the bbs between them for more sound. Nice job
@EngineeredAngler5 жыл бұрын
I have tried very similar things to give the rattle a more metallic sound. The problem is the added weight. A good trick is to coat the cap and the cavity with a layer of super glue. This gives it little bit higher pitch sound

Very good explanation, congratulations, but some parts of the video do not have good sound. Could you show how to make a lure on the lathe but off-center? or with multiple axes? Thanks, greetings from Uruguay
@EngineeredAngler5 жыл бұрын
Sorry about the sound...seems to play back ok for me...I'll look into it further. Multi axis latheing is some advance stuff and especially tough on something this small...but I'll think about it.

The stuff I poured the lure and caps with is the two part casting resin from Alumilite: www.alumilite.com/products/casting-resins/alumilite-white

When making a master for a resin mold, is it important for the master to function properly?
@EngineeredAngler5 жыл бұрын
That depends on the lure ...if it's a lipless crank or a swim bait or any lure that depends on it's shape to function correctly, then yes. Other lures that will only need adjustment to weight and balance can be molded. But I recomend you get all the details worked out before creating the mold...on any lure. Good luck.

Love your videos. I do have a question, what casting resin do you use to make your lures?
@EngineeredAngler5 жыл бұрын
I have been using alumilite but, I have recently been experimenting with the product from a company called specialty resins. So far I realy like it and it's much less expensive. Thanks for watching. ...
