That’s a good catch on the float and movement. I’ve been running aggressive flats or Mallet-E and find they keep me planted. I am looking for something more XC, but may find something with more of a platform.

Are they reliable because i am tossing up weather to get candy 1 or mallet 2

They are reliable, they’re just strictly for gravel and cross country. Your foot will float around a lot on the pedals. If you want more of a planted feel definitely go with the mallet e or mallet dh. I run mallet dh on my Marin San Quentin 3 and my YT jeffsy.
