I can't believe I've never heard Distortion before, it's not on spotify. The list of the ones I've heard: 1. Twisted Into Form 2. Forbidden Evil 3. Green 4. Omega Wave Each album is flawless. What about a Cranked and Ranked: Black Sabbath?

Oh damn, I didn't even know you made this, I'm always looking for a chat about Forbidden, one of my favorite bands from The Bay, along with Death Angel, Exodus, Testament and Heathen, I'm going to watch this tonight, I'm also going to watch your Megadeth one and Slayer one, yes I'm a thrash head lol, thank you in advance for these, as a person with depression, stuff like this is important to me, as I'm passionate about music, I love your channel, I'm also a member of your Facebook page which I enjoy and always post, but I'm rambling, thank you for your contributions! 🤘🏽

Very cool show guys! What a brilliant band! I wish you'll do episodes on Kreator, Coroner, King Diamond, Sepultura or even the cruely unknown canadian thrash chemists: OblivEon (1987-1999) someday...

@@OldHead Of course! Thanks for doing an episode on us. You guys did a great job on this. Don't know if you'd want to know, but for clarification Distortion and Green were both originally released on Gun Records who are based in Germany. Not a major label but not extremely underground at the time either. The companies that you mention during the episode had only re-released the recordings.

The Pantera song that you were talking about was "Throes of Rejection"!!! My favorite Forbidden album is "Forbidden Evil" because it's 100% In your Face Thrash Metal!!!

Peanut Butter Platypus! I've never even heard of Forbidden before. You've made me really curious to check them out and with only five albums, I'm going to start my deep dive tomorrow.

Awesome and underrated band to do a ranked list on. I’m not sure if you’re big into sludge but if you’re a fan you guys should rank the Crowbar albums. I feel like they don’t get talked about enough in terms of metal discussions in general.

Steve, all the exact heartfelt things you said about Forbidden being underrated, i have been saying about even greater proggie thrash underdogs called Toxik. Shit they've been doing on their amazing debut "World Circus" ( came out in 1987, no less! ) and its follow-up, "Think This", stuns me to this day wondering how come they're not more talked about, cos in terms of recognition, Forbidden is on a Metallica level compared to them. That said, i would really love to hear your podcast about underrated thrash bands, or albums, called "Cranked & Underranked"😁, i think that would be awesome. I also totally get where you're coming from with wanting to know everything about underrated and forgotten metal albums from the 90s, like Green, and more info is nowhere to be found. Exodus' Force of Habit is one of my favorite albums, i think it contains some of the most phenomenal tracks this band has ever made ( as Architect of Pain and Count your Blessings ) and it's being totally ignored as this "sellout" record which annoys me to no end. And yes, you said Exodus never had a "prog" moment, i beg to differ there, as i think that, along with some tracks on "Habit", "Impact is Imminent" was a botched prog thrash effort, ruined only by the almost unlistenable production/check out "Within the walls of chaos" again, it is their "And Justice" moment with flamboyant riff structure and bizarre harmonies, all in all amazing, unique and underappreciated track.

Craigs name is pronounced Lo-SIS-er-o, and yeah, he slays! His other bands are Manmade God and Spiralarms.

1. Forbidden Evil (one of best debuts) 2. Twisted Into Form (great follow up) 3. Omega Wave (one of best come backs ever) 4. Distortion (one of greatest 90's albums) 5. Green (sell out - make it or brake it - go with the flow album :) ) 6. Trapped (plus demo 1993 - some great demo songs - non album tracks)

Not sure if Eddie should have an equal opinion here. Only because I don't think one can cram listens, in order to do a review podcast. Music needs to settle in and it's important to have multiple listens as well. How many listens did Eddie give each album? I think 3 is an absolute minimum to be able to make a proper judgement. How much time did he have to cram 5 albums in? That being said, Omega Wave gets better with each listen and is now a close #2 to Twisted for me. Omega is also Craig's favorite for what it's worth. It's the best blend of their history and most mature. And I challenge anyone to tell me it's not Russ's finest performance!

Honestly, I think first impressions are just as important as seasoned opinions. Otherwise, why would anyone review any brand new album?
@damianhealy3004 жыл бұрын
@@OldHead I could not disagree more. Some of my favorite albums are ones I was not crazy about at first. If I stayed with my initial opinion, I would be missing out big time.
@OldHead4 жыл бұрын
That’s you, not everyone. I agree with you when it comes to some albums, but there are plenty of albums where my initial opinion hasn’t changed at all. Also, it makes for a more interesting discussion to have the point of view of a first time listener. The discussions are the most important part of our podcast, in my opinion. Neither one of us claim to be experts on any band.

Twisted into form was a great thrash album at the time. I didn't really like the Green album, though.
