Another fishing report for you. Went out to lake with cold front coming in. In 2 hours of fishin it went from 70 to 40. I slammed 10 before dark. Still not the big slabs but I’m catching something at least I had gloves, toboggan, winter coat on the last hour. Still fishing 12-15 inches below bobber on blue ice straight tail jig. Life is good!

Your videos are so very informative. We've been watching since we started crappie fishing and have learned so much. Son watches the catfishing vids, even caught a 25 lb blue with the tips and tricks! I could never be able to cast a 7' plus in tight quarters, I get stuck on trees in the middle of nowhere, lol I was grateful for the review of the reel, I love my viper 1000. Nice fishing! Well Jake, it finally happened. I caught about 15 black and one white today, decent size but not big slabs like you get. Caught them all on blue ice, straight tail, clear water. Foot under the bobber in finger area where it was shallow. This was a blessed day! Still haven’t seen that sticker I ordered to help me catch more fish. 😜 I’m going to have to look into that I guess. I've noticed 9/10 times you don't cast straight out....almost always parallel the bank. I also notice sometimes you don't hook up/fasten the top and bottom of your bobber, rather just the bottom. Why is that?

You got it. I rarely fish directly in front of me in the spring. I will in the fall when fish are deep. But spring fish are generally pushed up against the bank. So you can cover more water fishing parallel to where you’re standing. I attach my float at the bottom clip. I double wrap the line on the clip to keep it from slipping. Reason I do that is because you can see the faintest bite. The float won’t always get buried. Sometimes it’ll just twitch or tip over.

You’re still good. I haven’t drawn yet. Just picked up the hats last week. During spawn it’s easier to tell the difference. Males get really black so they are easy to spot.
