Thanks man!! Tip if the iceberg for sure… especially when you start thinking bigger grub bodies with heavier weighted heads! **insert evil maniacal laugh here**

You created the Fuzz-E-Grub!!!! All you need is a cheap bobbin threader and you can pull the feather inside the grub body. I believe there are videos showing how to do it. I will say this, I actually liked your version with the collar, that will catch bass and crappie just about any time you use it, excellent!!!!

Interesting!! So, that’s how they do it. Pulling it into the grub… there’s enough friction between the plastic and hook to keep it there? No thread? Seems like it would pull out on the first fish!

Just found your channel. Thanks for making this video- I have wondered for years how to combine marabou and plastic for my weedless jigheads!!

Another great video. I have tied a lot of flies but never thought about tying on a jig head time to get the fly tying equipment out and tie some jig head flies. Thanks for the great videos.

Jacobs Baits has a mold that you tie the tail on the jig, put the jig in the mold and pour the body around the jig and tail! Works pretty good.
@SDGCustomLurecraft3 жыл бұрын
Ahhh haaa!! I thought that was the case. Was it sure who made it but I thought there was a mold out there that accomplished something similar. Thanks Gary!

Hey Adam, noticed that you cut the thread with scissors when you have a collar on the jigs. Have you tried using a cuticle cutter for the thread. Works great and you don't have to worry about cutting the collar.

Hey George, thanks for the question. I’ve not used them but I’ve heard of it and seen other guys do - pretty cool approach!

Yep, similar to Fuzz-e-grubs or a jelly jigs. Nice.

Beautiful work. Try tying in the collar at the shoulder first. 2 or 3 turns of fur chenille or sparkle dubbing brush.. then slide on the body.. then reverse tie in the marabou tail and sweep back just at the rear of the body. Whip finish just at that juncture, Should only have a few visible turns of thread, if any. It gets buried up against the plastic body.

Thanks man! Love that approach as well, sounds awesome!

Very nice tie, Adam. I like how you handled the "gap" at the jighead when you slide the body back over the tail. Have been struggling trying to thread marabou on grub bodies off hook....the bobbin threader trick doesn't give me good results. Still working on that. Thanks for sharing.

I've been doing these for over 5yrs. I mix my powders for my own secret color. Heat a pan of water place the plastics at less than a boiling wate,thread the plastic on the hook and then push the plastic tight against the head and place forceps and Compress more Then tie on marabou right against the forceps, whip finish and remove forceps put on super glue gem on the thread. Adjust plastic *** tip put super glue gel against the head and plastic for extra hold ***
