With this set up, I use 8 lbs. braid tied to a swivel with a 6lbs. leader. That way if you get snagged, you can pull it off and only lose your jig, instead of losing your bobber and bead.

and the swivel stops the slip float from getting stuck to the jig at least i think it never gave me problems but if it does juts add a bead ontop of the swivel

Great video. I bobber fish a lot for walleye and crappie. One trick I was taught with a slide your bobber on the line followed by a bead. Then tie the line to a swivel. If you are fishing deeper, say 12 feet over 20 feet, add a slip sinker above the bead. Tie main line to swivel. If you are using 8lb mono, tie a 6lb leader (say 12-14 inches) and then your jib or hook. This keeps everything from getting caught up. If you get hung up on a branch, rock or other, you can break of the jig/live bait hook (6lb leader), without losing your bobber. I like your video with subscribe! Fishmohr

I’m just now learning to “really” fish. One thing that wasn’t clear to me or either I didn’t comprehend. So I am clear…The first knot you tied is roughly 15ft or so up your line from your jig, which stops the bobber and helps maintain depth of the jig at roughly 15ft down? The bobber will slide up the line and stop at this point and then slide down towards the jig as you reel it in. I will need to learn to tie a knot for the bobber stop as I have not a clue what that cannister tube knot you used is. I looked below in your description but wasn’t sure. Great video! Thank you for taking the time to put it together.

You are correct. The top knot sets the depth, which the bobber will stop at. This is a video where I explain how to tie that knot. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mXWspHapftFjjrs

Gonna try that loop knot. No bead on top of the bobber? Another bobber stop I've been using is a piece of skirt from a frog, chatterbait, etc. The yarn slips too much for me, but never thought about leaving tag ends on it. Those micro guides can get picky.
@FloppingCrappie

I'll have to try the skirt from a frog next time I'm fishing. And yes, you can put a bead above the bobber and below the stop if the bobber is getting stuck in the slip stop.

I'm new this forward facing sonars and I'm trying to do my research because I'm getting ready to take the plunge and from what I have gathered the current system is going to run me around 2,500.00. Please correct me if I'm wrong but from what I understand I need a 1. graph 2 transducer 3. black box....does that pretty much cover it...those 3 items? and can anyone tell me what is the best one to get? largest screen I can get with that 2,500.00 budget and also If I decide to get 2 graphs and put one at the console can I get the same 2 graphs and network them with a ethernet cable. Any advise or help with this would be so much appreciated. Like I said I'm learning about these at the moment and trying to get the best deal for the money. Also...if anyone know of a company running a sale or a coupon/rebate on these would be great too.

You are correct in what you need for this system. There a couple of bundle sales going on that are within you're $2,500 price range. The first is a Garmin 93sv bundle which includes the black box and the LVS32 transducer bit.ly/3knsbsq . Another option is the GPSMAP 1022 with blackbox and LVS32 transducer bit.ly/3MIrV34 . Garmin just came out with the LVS34 transducer as well, which replace the lvs32 and can be bundled with either of these graphs and same black box for $200 more.

For starters, a spring float is NOT designed as a slip bobber. It’s meant to be adjustable without a wrap, then when you get the depth where you want it, you wrap it once. 4 out of 10
@FloppingCrappie
@FloppingCrappie 2 жыл бұрын
Clearly you didn't watch the video, this bobber is a 3 in One design. It has two notches. The notch closest to the body of the bobber is for a fixed float setup. The second notch closest to the stem is meant for a slip bobber setup. You can also run the line through the middle of the stem , which is why this bobber is called a 3 in One.

This is a 3 in one bobber. There are two notches on the stem of the bobber, one is for a fixed line position, the other allows the line to pass through it. It also has a hole through the middle of the bobber. You can either run the line through the middle of the bobber or use the second notch on the bobbers stem to use it as a slip float.
