Crappie Fishing on the BANK 101

I had some time to check out the Crappie action early in the morning so I could have a reference on how it compared to evening fishing. There was definitely a lot of action today. Take a look for yourself!

5:00 from my experience crappie are mostly night/early morning fish. The only time youll catch them are when they come out to feed and no lights out. Just earlier today we usually hit up our crappie hotspot. They dont start feeding/roaming until the sun has slowly disappear. I was lucky enough to catch one when the sun was out. The water was very murky and green. Unfortunately that was only crappie out feeding 😂 pretty much the more you fish the more you understand them better. Theyre fun but very time gated. Got spawning season coming up soon and im ready for my first year experience. It will be very fun from I was told LOL.

The bucket size ones are just pass the bridge to the west in the middle of the river and the other side right before the shipping docks but as you know, they move around a lot. Nice video bro!

Thanks Alex! I've been meaning to take my small boat out there to go after the crappie, but I tend to change my mind at the last minute because there is a lot of fishing pressure there. Fishing on the bank is much easier for short fishing trips. lol

Yeah, go out there and have some fun. Take some baits for bluegills in case the crappie aint biting. Good luck!

@calloftheoutdoors8941 couple bites on the bobber, was targeting bluegill, however my friend reeled in 3 smallish bass, had to release it but was still fun. Hopefully next time I'll catch a crappie

@@maxmaruha I'm not sure if you used bait or lures, but lures typically work better than bait for crappie. However, the best bait from what I hear are live minnows. Good luck next time!

Definitely. I was using a 6ft Shimano Trout AS One rod, with 1000 Daiwa Gekkabijin reel using 2lb PLine Flourocarbon line on 1/64 oz trout magnet jighead and 1.5 inch Chartreuse and White Flex Bugs(Phet Baits USA). When did you film this? I was in that exact same spot with the graffiti and the water level was several feet lower and full of weeds.

This was about mid July Elian. How did you do out there? One thing about Barge Canal is that the high and low tides are quite drastic from what I've seen and I always do better for crappie when the water is flowing out(low tide).

If you look up Lake Washington tide charts it gives a rough idea of how it’ll be during the time of day you’re out there. I tend to do best when high tide hits around sunset. It all depends on the moon phases
