One of my old good friends used to walk backwards when he set the hook and was fighting a fish like you do, one day we were fishing on a dock and he thought he was walking backwards down it but he went at a angle and fell in the water lol. I've watched him back up and trip over rocks, fall in mud holes, hit his head on tree limbs and all kinds of stuff haha. He still does it though 20 years later

He would take a can of alpo dog food punch holes in the can soak it in cherry jello tie a rope to the can toss it out 15 feet or so from the bank and set his fishing pole up near the can and catch every big catfish in the lake

need some rod holders that are solid so you can keep your line tight so when the fish bite the circle hooks it hooks them better, either that or the bait is too big and the hook isnt in a good position when you lose those two that seemed to be running. but ya i dont like fishing slack for any fish really i would rather have my pole set up where even if a big fish hit it the rod isnt going in water so can keep the line tight.

@@EastTennesseeWhiskers I fish nottley and blue ridge as well as Carter's. I live about 4 miles from caters and caught the first large stripe bass out of caters that was about 41 pounds. I've caught catfish out of ponds as well as the lakes that went into the 40+ pound range. I got the biggest channel catfish out of a large holding pond that is used for a plant nursery, it was a 44 pound fish that I had to shoot 3 times before I could dress it out to eat. It was one of the cleanest tasting catfish I've ever had. Most really big catfish does not taste as clean as a smaller fish I like to get the 10-20 pound fish to eat.

Great video, just got a couple of questions. Here in Illinois we are limited to using only two rods at a time. How many rods can you use at once? It seems like at least 6 in this video. The way you have your rods leaned up over the cooler, don't the lines tangle with each other when you start to reel one in? Thanks
@EastTennesseeWhiskers

We have no rod limit here. Sometimes they will get tangled up but it's just the risk we take using so many rods. They are all casted in different directions.

@@slaisebam no, I'm not intentionally smacking the actual fish. I'm trying to smack the eye of the hook to pop it out. It's a lot better than taking plyers and creating a bigger hole in the fish's mouth by ripping the hook out.

My camera that I film with does not have a wide-angle lens, so I have to stay further back to turn the camera on. I'm actually getting a new camera today so hopefully I can be closer to my rods.

I am watching from Elmira NY when I fosh catfish in the Chemung River i watch my tip instead of using a clicker
@EastTennesseeWhiskers

I like to run a clicker where I fish. The fish are heavily pressured around here and if they feel a lot of tension on the bait they seem to drop it often.

Diggin' the video man, but let's not be teaching bank fishermen to fish off the boat ramp. I bank fish, kayak, and boat and respect all. In Missouri, most ramps are posted "No swimming" "No fishing"... but keep up the good work, I will be watching!
