There's absolutely nothing better than an egg washed fillet of crappie, dredged in Louisiana fish fry, fried to a crispy golden brown and topped off with some habanero chipolte tartar sauce. That stuff is death row, last meal good........and cheese grits on the side!

Love me some crappie. Got some mondos here in ga. My dad caught one around 3 pounds earlier this year. Few years ago, a fella caught one in the same lake that was 6 pounds. DNR came out and said it wasn't considered a record holding fish because it was caught in a city owned lake.

Funny you've never seen a cat caught crappie fishing. I remember the biggest flathead I've caught was crappie fishing some flooded cedar on Truman Lake in Warsaw, Missouri. 10lb Flatty on a tiny hook. Size 8 tiny hook. Also, on the subject of goldfish.. the biggest crappie we've caught was 17.5in on a trot line on a FAT goldfish. Love the vid lfg, glad y'all slayed 'em and ate 'em.
