Not enough people here understand the importance of these crappie. Keep a couple a year if you want. This lagoon is small. KEEPING THAT MANY HAS A HUGE IMPACT on the bass and all the fish in there as this is a major food supply for the bass. Keep in mind the lagoon at one point was able to produce a world record bass.

I dont know another popular KZbinr that would keep so many. Doesnt matter how many are in the lake, unless you are commercially reselling them or something, no need to keep 15.

Lakeforkguy, Hookcitytv, fishingaddict, 3 pound crappie fishing, kansas angling experience, crappie fishing tv, fishing with nordeye.... to name a few. They've kept 20+ multiple times and they responsibly harvest and consume them. And just like them, I harvest and consume them. In this video I caught 15 but if you look closely at the thumbnail, I only kept 10. Thanks for watching!

I'm ordering some of the crappie jigs today. I read up on the Old Town you got - it's sweet. I think I start with a paddle one and if I'm into it I'll upgrade to a pedal power.

That's a tiny pond lake. Those are definitely breeder crappie. It's ideal to refrain keeping coming from the lagoon. Very nice crappie though.

Thanks! Limits have been harvested every winter for the last 20 years by many locals that aren’t on social media. I don’t see any decline in populations so far. I respect your opinion though, so no hard feelings!

Nice job,the goon has had slabs ever since I can remember.Bet you I buy a kayak fish finder,fish the whole lake and won't get anything.The limit is still 25,so your 10 fish won't hurt the species.

Nice, bro! I’m going to try crappie fishing this year. On an open lake, what are you looking for? On my lake, I found a 10’ wide hole that drops from 10/12’ to 16/18’. Ton of stacked fish, just don’t know what they are. 😅 I spotted ton of beds everywhere, and fish suspended around them, bass for sure. Very finicky. Also, when unloading your yak, at a launch, point your car towards the water. When you unload your yak, the yak won’t run away from you, if that makes sense?…this happens more with SUV topped kayaks. Not so much with trucks, cuz they’re lower.

Well I'm looking for structure first. But my place has no structure so I look for baitfish and once i find them I look for crappie at that depth and in that area. If I point towards the water, then its really heavy to pull it back and unload it because the kayak is being leaned forward. So thats why I have the back pointed towards the water

Nice job Sir and congrats 👏 on getting the new kayak. I just got a new Pontoon float with trolling motor. My favorite fish to catch is Crappie. Could someone who doesn't have that quality of fish finder catch the Crappie using a drifting technique? You drift until you find them. Chase Crappie in San Diego lakes and Isabella. Never tried the lagoon. I gonna try this Saturday. I hope I have similar luck while using my new Pontoon float for the 1st time! Excellent video Sir

Yes you can but fish finder would help so you know the general are they are at. I don't know about SD lakes but I know Isabella crappie stay still on timber and trees. The crappie at Castaic are always moving around

Joe thanks for the response. I picked up a Garmin Striker 4 fish finder yesterday. Not nearly as nice as yours but I hope its a good starter fish finder. I am going to the Lagoon tomorrow. When do you plan to go back for those Crappies? Peace
